This family-friendly campground located in southern Maine on the
shores of beautiful, crystal-clear Trickey Pond was first established in 1961
as Bosworth’s Family Circle Campsites. It then became Loon’s Haven Family
Campground 25 years ago when it was purchased by Charlie and Gail Mason and
their son, Michael. Charlie and Gail have retired from actively running the
campground, but they are still a large part of the family operations. While
the campground’s owners have made many updates to its campsites and
facilities over the decades, they take great pride in the fact that the
experience of enjoying the beautiful Maine outdoors has remained the same for
the past 60 years. Families continue to come back to Loon’s Haven year after
year, bringing their children and then their grandchildren to experience the
family-friendly environment and the fun of camping.

Campground

From the two sandy beaches on Trickey Pond to the shaded campsites
and waterfront and waterview glamping tents and rental cabins, there’s
something for everyone. You can hear the loons call across the spring-fed
pond early each day while you enjoy the fresh morning air and the beauty that
surrounds you. The evenings will bring more loons’ calls as you enjoy the
stunning sunsets. The campground also offers fun themed weekends, including
“Christmas in July” and “Halloween Weekend” in August. Weekly activities
include bingo, karaoke, kids’ crafts, horseshoe and bean bag tournaments and
more. You can bring your boat or kayak and enjoy being out on the water on
Trickey Pond, and the campground is pet friendly, so feel free to bring your
four-legged friends! There’s also a full campground store and the Lazy Loon
Café to provide you with anything you might need during your
stay.

The Anniversary Celebration

“We will be celebrating our 60th anniversary the entire season,
but our big bash is July 30th–August 1st,” says Billie McNamara, operations
manager for Loon’s Haven. “We have a daytime event with booths, games, and
activities. Then we have Nashville’s own Dave & Daphne Show
performing Saturday evening! The whole weekend will be packed with fun and
celebration as we prepare for 60 more years of camping.”
