Best season for a Canada RV trip
Summer is the best time to enjoy RVing in Canada. We recommend traveling between mid-May and mid-October. Due to frigid weather conditions, many attractions and campgrounds are closed outside of this time period.
- Kluane National Park and Reserve - One of Yukon's top attractions, the Kluane National Park and Reserve, offers stunning vistas, with soaring peaks, including Canada's highest mountain Mount Logan at 19,551 feet, and lush valleys that create a magnificent backdrop. This UNESCO World Heritage site offers hiking trails, campgrounds, and opportunities for wildlife spotting. Be sure to catch a glimpse of the glacial-fed, turquoise Kluane Lake.
- Tombstone Territorial Park - Another impressive landmark in Yukon is the Tombstone Territorial Park, known for its towering, jagged peaks, subalpine forests, and vast fields of alpine wildflowers. A must-visit spot to photograph some of the best scenery that Yukon has to offer. Tombstone is a perfect spot for hiking, camping, or simply taking in the sights and sounds of nature.
- Carcross Desert - Not far from the charming town of Carcross, you will find the Carcross Desert, the smallest desert in the world, nestled in between mountains and beside Bennett Lake. A perfect spot to explore some of the unique geological formations, crystal-clear waterways, and vast dunes. This stark, arid landscape coupled with a stunning backdrop of forested mountains and sparkling lake waters create an unparalleled photo opportunity.
- Takhini Hot Springs - After a long day of adventure and exploring, it's time to relax and soak in the Takhini Hot Springs. These natural hot springs are a perfect reprieve for tired muscles and are also known for their therapeutic properties. With multiple pools and multiple temperatures, these hot springs offer a soothing and relaxing environment amidst the beautiful outdoors.
- Northern Lights - The Yukon Territory is known as one of the best places to view the Northern Lights or Aurora Borealis. Park your RV, step outside, and watch the colors dance across the night sky.
