Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Once the sauce has thickened slightly, remove from heat and let it cool. Materials Needed:

• Red, white, and blue embroidery thread

• Scissors

Instructions:

1. Cut six strands of embroidery thread, two red, two white, and two blue, each about 24 inches long.

2. Tie the strands together in a knot at one end, leaving a few inches of excess thread.

3. Secure the knotted end to a stable surface or safety pin it to your clothing.

4. Separate the threads by color so you have two red, two white, and two blue.

5. Take the far left red thread and make a forward knot onto the thread next to it. Repeat with the right red thread.

6. Repeat this process, alternating between red, white, and blue threads until you reach the desired length.

7. Tie a knot at the end of the bracelet and trim any excess thread.

8. To wear, tie the ends together around your wrist.

Patriotic Paper Lanterns:

Materials Needed:

• Red, white, and blue construction paper

• Scissors

• Glue or tape

• String or ribbon

• Battery-operated tea lights (optional)

Instructions:

1. Cut the construction paper into strips, about 1 inch wide and 8-10 inches long. You'll need an equal number of each color.

2. Take one strip of each color and glue or tape the ends together to form a loop.

3. Repeat this process until you have enough loops to form your lantern.

4. Take one loop of each color and stack them on top of each other, alternating colors.

5. Glue or tape the top of each loop together to form a sphere.

6. Attach a string or ribbon to the top of the lantern for hanging.

7. If desired, place a battery-operated tea light inside the lantern for a glowing effect.

Mini American Flags with Popsicle Sticks:

Materials Needed:

• Popsicle sticks

• Red, white, and blue paint

• Paintbrushes

• Glue

• Star stickers or stencils (optional)

Instructions:

1. Paint one popsicle stick blue and set it aside to dry. This will be the flag's background.

2. Paint the remaining popsicle sticks white and set them aside to dry. These will be the flag's stripes.

3. Once the blue stick is dry, glue it to the top left corner of one of the white sticks to create the flag's blue field.

4. Use red paint to paint stripes on the remaining white sticks to represent the flag's stripes. Let them dry.

5. Once dry, glue the blue field and the striped sticks together to form the American flag.

6. If desired, add star stickers or stencil stars onto the blue field to represent the stars on the flag.

7. Let the glue dry completely before displaying your mini American flags.
