Lakeshore Resort in Lakehead, CA, offers 39 full-hookup RV sites and 11 cabin and cottage rentals, with 30 and 50-amp service and a mix of back-in and pull-thru layouts.
Site categories are straightforward: full-hookup back-ins, full-hookup pull-thrus, water-and-electric back-ins that also take tents, and water-and-electric lakeview sites. Full-hookup sites carry water, sewer, and electric with site-delivered WiFi and a picnic table. The resort is open all year. Laundry, a bathhouse with showers, a general store, and a dump station cover the essentials, and pets are welcome. Check-in is 2pm for RV guests with an 11am checkout, while cabin guests check in at 3pm and out by 11am.
An outdoor pool, a game room and arcade, a bar, and a playground fill the grounds, with lake access for swimming, fishing, and wildlife watching.
Lakehead sits five minutes off Interstate 5 in Shasta County, on the banks of Shasta Lake — California's largest reservoir at 29,000 surface acres with 365 miles of shoreline in the Klamath Mountains.

When are check-in & check-out times?
- RV guests can arrive starting at 2 and must check out at noon.
- Cabin guests can arrive starting at 3 and must check out by 11am.
What is your cancelation policy?
- Life happens, we get it.
- Up to 7 days before arrival, you can change dates for no fee, or cancel for a full refund (minus a $20 fee per reservation.) Within 7 days, refunds are not available.
Can we request sites/cabins next to each other?
- Absolutely.
- We're a perfect spot for groups, celebrations, and family reunions since everything is so close.
What comes with the RV sites & cabins?
- The RV sites come with hook-ups, a picnic table, and Wifi.
- Choose from Full or partial hook-ups, pull-thru or back-in, and your preferred location on the property.
- We also a dump station.
- RV guests can access the communal bathroom building, laundry machines, kids' play area, and the seasonal pool and restaurant.
- Cabins come with either a studio layout, 1 bedroom, or 2 bedrooms, and all the things needed for a comfortable stay.
How long & wide are the RV sites? Will I fit?
- Our RV sites range in length from 26' to 52' feet, and width from to extra narrow (10') to super wide (33').
Are you dog-friendly?
- We love hosting your four-legged friends!
- To ensure a comfortable stay for everyone, we welcome up to two well-behaved dogs for a nightly fee of $20 per pet.
- We simply ask that you follow these house rules:
- Good Neighbors: To keep the cabin peaceful, we ask that dogs be quiet, friendly, and kept on a leash.
- For their safety and comfort, please do not leave your pups unattended in the cabin.
- Cozy Floors, Not Beds: We provide fresh linens for our human guests, so please keep pups off the beds.
- If our cleaning team finds excessive pet hair on the bedding, an extra cleaning fee of up to $100 may be applied.
- Keep It Clean: Please help us keep our grounds beautiful by picking up and disposing of pet waste immediately.
- Safety First: While we hope every stay is perfect, we do reserve the right to ask disruptive pets to find alternative accommodations without a refund.
- Please note that owners are responsible for any injury or damage caused by their dogs.
- Accidents Happen: We understand mistakes occur!
- If any damage to linens or furnishings is found, we will share photos with you and apply charges for the necessary deep cleaning, repairs, or replacements.
What things can I *not* bring?
- Kindly do not arrive with visitors not staying overnight in your site/cabin, rice cookers, air mattresses or cots (for the cabins), amplified sound devices or music instruments, drones, noisy motorized toys or vehicles (e.g., small dirt bikes and scooters), or any noisy equipment that will disturb the enjoyment of other guests.
- Absolutely no smoking and no firearms allowed on Lakeshore Resort property.
Where can I swim? Launch my boat?
- Swimming: Our property is right on the lake, but there's a steep, inaccessible slope to the water.
- Not a problem! We have two calm inlets on either side of us (check the map) that are a 2-minute walk or drive.
- Boat Launch: For trailered boats, you can use the public launches 5 minutes north (Antlers Public Campground) or 5 minutes south (Sugarloaf). For kayaks, canoes, and paddleboards, use the two calm inlets on either side of us, where you can usually drive right down the lake to unload.
Are fires & smoking allowed?
- Lakeshore is located in an area of extreme fire risk.
- Past fires have caused serious damage and loss of life.
- Wood fires are not allowed.
- Guests can rent our propane firepits during their stay.
- Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the property.
How do quiet hours work?
- We enforce quiet hours everywhere on the property from 10pm to 7am.
- We are not a destination for noisy groups or parties who cannot respect these hours.
What are the grocery & dining options?
- We are lucky to have a grocery store just 1 minute away.
- We highly recommend our on-site restaurant which is open from Memorial Day through October.
- Or, visit our friends at Basshole Brews just 1 minute down the road.
Is there wifi & cell coverage?
- We offer Wifi at slower speeds that are better closer to our reception building.
- Verizon and AT&T offer the strongest cell coverage.
- T-mobile has 1-2 bars.
Do you offer discounts or specials?
- We do! They vary by season, day of week, and number of nights, but you can contact us to discover our latest promotions and discounts.
Rules
Check-In Procedure
- RV Site check-in time is 2:00 pm.
- RV Site checkout time is 12:00 pm.
- Cabin check-in time is 3:00 pm.
- Cabin checkout is 11:00 am.
- Your RV site will be ready for check-in at 2 pm.
- Please depart by noon.
- For Cabins, check-in time is 3 pm. Please depart by 11 am.
- If arriving after 10 pm, please add a note during booking.
- We will send after-hours instructions.
- While each park attempts to accommodate your exact spot request, the on-site manager has the ultimate decision for spot placement.
Fire Safety
- Guests will be staying in a high fire-risk area and must strictly follow these requirements:
- Fires allowed for RV guests only, not cabin guests, and must be propane (not wood).
- Keep fires under 2 feet tall.
- An adult must monitor the fire at all times.
- Unattended fires will be extinguished.
- No open flames, smoking, portable gas stoves, candles, or incense burning allowed inside any cabin.
- All county & Lakeshore Resort fire restrictions must be obeyed, incl. no-burn days due to high fire risk.
- No fireworks.
Dog Policy
- Dogs must meet the following requirements and will be charged a $20 nightly fee (per pet, 2 dogs max):
- Dogs must be well-behaved & quiet (this includes puppies) with no history of aggressive behavior, always kept on leash, and never left alone.
- Dogs are never allowed on the cabin beds.
- You may be automatically charged up to a $100 cleaning fee if excessive pet hair is found on linens.
- Dog waste must be cleaned up and disposed of immediately.
- We reserve the right to ask dogs (and their owners) to leave without a refund if owners cannot abide by these rules, and to call Animal Control to remove a disruptive pet.
- Dog owners will be sent photos of any damaged linens, furnishings, or other materials that result from their dog’s behavior and will be automatically charged for extra cleaning, repairs, and item replacement.
- We are not responsible for, and will hold the pet owner accountable for, any injury or damage caused by their dog.
Rates
- Rates and policies are subject to change and vary during high-impact periods.
Quiet Hours
- All sites & cabins are in close proximity, and we enforce quiet hours from 10 pm-7 am.
- We do not allow music to be played live or via speakers at any hour of the day.
- Please consider booking elsewhere if you cannot whisper during these hours.
Children Policy
- Children love exploring our property, but must be kept under constant adult supervision (especially near the lake and vehicles) during their stay to ensure the privacy of other guests and their own safety.
- Our property has hazards including vehicle traffic, steep slopes, poison oak & other plants, and property improvements.
- Parents who cannot control their children's behavior and jeopardize their child's safety or the enjoyment or safety of other guests will have their reservations canceled.
Noise Complaint Fees
- Guests receiving multiple warnings will be asked to seek alternative accommodations by our Camp Host at any hour without a refund, will be prevented from booking future stays, and may be charged as much as $500 as a noise disturbance fee.
Capacity
- Please do not exceed the stated maximum capacity of your site or cabin.
- For RV sites, only 4 people (adults + children) are included in the nightly rate.
- Up to 2 extra guests can occupy the site for a nightly fee or $8/ per individual guest.
- Max capacity is 4 (2 adults max) for studio cabins and 6 (4 adults max) for the 1 and 2-bedroom cabins.
- 1 vehicle (non-RV) per site/cabin. 1 extra vehicle is $10/night.
Cabin Electricity
- Cabins have a limited electrical capacity, enough for powering low-voltage LED lights and charging your phones, laptops/tablets, and CPAP machines.
- Please do not plug in large devices or appliances, including hair dryers and rice cookers, as they will cause the system to fail, possibly shutting down power on the property.
Smoking
- Lakeshore Resort is a non-smoking property due to our high fire risk.
- Guests who smoke on the property or in their sites/accommodations will be automatically charged a minimum $300 violation/cleaning fee to properly remove, clean, and replace all furnishings and tent/cabin materials, and will be prevented from booking a future stay.
- Smoking includes cigarettes, cigars, cannabis, and e-cigarettes.
Prohibited Items

Damages, Excessive Cleaning Fees & Missing Items
- Please be careful with your site or cabin during your stay.
- Damages beyond normal wear-and-tear, and missing items, will be automatically charged to the card on file based on the amount to purchase and assemble.
- An Excessive Cleaning Fee of up to $300 will be applied if severe damage is found by housekeeping.
- Stolen or lost furnishings will be charged at 50% higher than our cost to acquire and assemble.
Guest Property
- Lakeshore is not responsible for loss, damage, or claims to property of guests due to fire, theft, accident, or any other cause.
- Guests are encouraged to lock valuables in their vehicles and cabins during their stay.
Guest Responsibility
- All guests staying at Lakeshore expressly acknowledge that their presence on our property, and any participation in any activities offered by or allowed at Lakeshore (such as the playground), or participation in activities adjacent to Lakeshore's property (including the lake) comes with inherent risks of injury to persons and property and each guest voluntarily accepts and assumes full responsibility for such risks, both known and unknown, and further agrees to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Lakeshore against any and all claims, suits, actions of any kind whatsoever, for liability, injury, damages, compensation or otherwise, brought by or on behalf of said guest.
Initial Deposit
- At the time of booking, 100% of the reservation balance will be collected.
- Payment for all retail items and gift certificates will also be collected.
Campground Disclaimer
- We’ve created these policies to make sure we can provide you with a memorable stay, and you will want to return and share the experience with others.
- You will receive a copy of these Policies in your confirmation email after booking.

Cancellation Policy
Campground Cancellation Policy
- Life happens, so cancellations can be made up to 7 days prior to your arrival date for a full refund, minus a $20 cancellation fee.
- If you cancel within 7 days of your arrival, no refunds will be made.
Refund Policy
- There are absolutely no refunds due to problems or failures beyond our control, including inclement weather (such as rain or cold temperatures), traffic, and road conditions.
- All Spot2Nite reservations require payment in full at the time of booking.

- Spot2Nite convenience fees and credit card processing fees are non-refundable.
