Established in the fall of 1969 by Bill Walker, Evening Star Camping Resort is located on 35 acres of pristine land 6 miles outside the town of Havana, Illinois. It is a great place to enjoy family camping the way you like it. We offer lots of events, themed weekends, and excitement or complete relaxation by the campfire, if you choose. A full-service facility, we're open from April 1 through October 31 and can accommodate any type of camping unit, from a tent to a large motor home. We currently have seasonal spaces available, and if you are working in the area, we offer monthly rates as well. We feature large wooded or open, grassy sites with 20- 30- or 50-AMP electric service, lots of pull-thrus and easy back-ins. Full hook-up, water/electric, and primitive campsites are available.

Rules

Check-In Procedure - Check-in time: 2:00 pm. - Check-out time: 11:00 am. - Please check at the office for early arrivals or late departures. - While each park attempts to accommodate your exact spot request, the on-site manager has the ultimate decision for spot placement. Quiet Hours - Be considerate of other campers. - Remember, quiet hours are from 11:00 p.m. until 8:00 a.m. Campground Etiquette & Environmental Conservation - Do not cut across another camper’s sites or lawn areas. - Help conserve our environment. - Help conserve water and energy. - Lawn watering and trailer or car washing are not permitted on weekends. Dumpster - Bag and take your garbage to the dumpsters. Tree Protection & Preservation - No trees on the grounds are to be cut or abused. Campfire - Watch your campfire and what you burn. - Do not burn garbage or treated wood. - Campfires shall be of reasonable size and not endanger the environment or the personal property of others. - Campfires are permitted only when water is available at your site. - Wood piles should be of reasonable size for weekend use and shall be stacked 4 off the ground, not leaning against trees. - Seasonal campers are expected to provide their own campfire equipment. Safety & Courtesy - Help keep the campground safe and pleasant. Signage & Advertising Rules - No for sale signs are allowed on trailers or vehicles of any type. Campground Amenities - Picnic tables and fire rings are provided by the campground for those who camp with us for the short term. Compliance & Safety Standards - All camping units shall be kept in conformity with all national, state, local, electric, plumbing, and health codes. Shed - One shed is allowed on seasonal camp sites, not to exceed 10' x 10' and must be constructed in a professional manner of wood, rubber or plastic materials. - All sheds must be pre-approved by Evening Star and they must be placed on the site only in such locations as allowed by Evening Star. - Sheds must be kept in a state of good repair and painted, if necessary. Decks - Decks may be constructed in sections no greater than 8' x 10'. - Decks may only be constructed with the approval of the manager or owner, and when combined, shall not exceed 80% of the camping unit. - All building materials and anything put in the ground must be pre-approved by Evening Star Management. Storage & Safety Regulations - No large items or appliances are to be stored on the site. - LP Tanks over 100 lbs. are not permitted. Site Maintenance & Cleanliness - You are responsible for keeping the site clean and mowed. - If a site is cleaned or mowed by Evening Star Management due to neglect, there will be a $50.00 charge per incident. Fireworks - Fireworks are not permitted inside the campground limits. Children - Know where your Children are at all times. - Children must be at their campsite during quiet hours. - Unsupervised Children under the age of 18 are not allowed in the Campground. Alcohol - Consumption of alcoholic beverages and use of tobacco products by persons under legal age is not allowed. Visitors - All visitors must stop in the office upon entering the Campground. - Have visitors park in areas that are not crowded. - Day visitors are not allowed in the park after 10:00 p.m. - A family staying overnight in your trailer will be charged at ½ the current full hook-up rate. - Day Visitors will be charged full rates for swimming, golf, and other Campground activities. Speed Limit - Please drive responsibly and remember that the speed limit for all vehicles is 5 mph. - You are responsible for any and all accidents and damages caused by any of your vehicles. Parking Guidelines - Park only one vehicle at a time at each campsite and pull it completely off the road. - Any vehicle, regardless of its parking location, that does not meet the conditions of the preceding paragraph will be deemed to be parked illegally on private property. - Subject to local ordinances, these vehicles may be towed without notice. - The disposition of the towed vehicles is the sole responsibility of the resident. - Neither the campground manager nor owner shall be held responsible for the disposition of or damage to a towed vehicle. - If any vehicle belonging to resident is parked in another resident’s space, resident is subject to being asked to move the vehicle to an appropriate space. - Failure to move upon verbal or written request may result in the vehicle being towed. - The terms and conditions of this paragraph shall also apply to non-motorized vehicles such as personal trailers, removable truck-mounted campers, and bicycles, as well as objects and/or structures placed in parking spaces. - Residents shall only park automobiles and/or motorcycles in resident parking spaces. - Anything other than these vehicles (e.g., boats, jet-skis, snowmobiles, etc.) will be deemed to be parked illegally and, subject to local ordinances, may be towed without notice, at the cost of the resident. Golf Carts - Golf carts may be operated by a licensed driver only. - Liability and comprehensive insurance must be carried on the golf cart and current, valid proof of insurance provided to the campground. - Golf carts are for transportation purposes, not for recreational or off-road purposes, and are to be driven on access roads only. - Noisy golf carts must be repaired or parked. - Golf carts driven recklessly will lose the right to be used in the park and the owners will be required to remove them from the premises. Vehicle Restrictions - ATV’s, mini-bikes and other motorized 2-wheeled vehicles (excluding motorcycles) are not permitted in the park. - Resident agrees that all vehicles, either owned by, leased to, or in the custodial care of the resident, shall be duly registered, licensed, insured, and operable at all times. - Vehicles in excess of a 1-1/2 ton designation are not allowed in the Campground unless authorized in writing by the owner. - Only 2 (two) vehicles are allowed at the campsite overnight. - There will be an additional fee of $20 for campers charging electric vehicles. Pets - We love animals, but please keep your pet leashed or tied up at your site at all times. - Do not tie your pets to trees. - Clean up after your pet and carry something to pick up after them when walking. - Pets must be walked in open areas where there are no trailers or recreational equipment. - Pets shall be kept inside during quiet hours. - Do not leave your pet unattended. - Keep noisy pets quiet so they do not disturb other campers. - Pets are not allowed in the cabins. Recreational Facilities - Recreational facilities are for everyone’s use and enjoyment. Lake - The lake is for fishing only. - Absolutely no swimming. Pavilion Rules - No bike riding or skateboarding is allowed in the pavilions.

Cancellation Policy

MODERATE If the guest cancels at least 1 week before your check-in day and time, they will receive a full refund (minus Spot2Nite convenience or resort fees). If the guest cancels within the 1 week before check-in, there will be no refund.
