5.01 reviews
Blue Springs Ranch spans 150 acres along the Meramec River near Bourbon, Missouri, just off the old Route 66 corridor in the heart of the Ozarks. The ranch combines more than 100 full-hookup RV sites with cabins and tent sites, giving Ozark visitors a wide range of ways to camp on the same stretch of river. Water-based recreation is the main draw, with float trips on the Meramec River ranging from a relaxing lazy float to a more ambitious 10-mile run, plus on-site fishing, paddle boating, and boat rentals. Beyond the water, the ranch offers horseback riding, a general store, an outdoor pool, a zip line, and a barn and pavilion that double as a wedding venue — enough variety that families with different interests rarely run out of things to do. Spring through fall keeps the Meramec running at its most float-friendly, while the ranch's varied indoor and outdoor activities make it a workable destination in cooler months too. The Route 66 history of the area adds an easy day-trip option: Meramec Caverns, one of Missouri's most-visited cave systems and a longtime Route 66 icon, sits near Stanton with cavern tours, a Meramec River canoe outfitter, a zipline, and the Jesse James Wax Museum on site. A short drive further leads to Onondaga Cave State Park in Leasburg, where Onondaga Cave's underground river and boat tours have earned it recognition as one of the most beautiful caves in the country. Whether the plan is a float down the Meramec, a ride on horseback, or a side trip to explore Missouri's cave country, Blue Springs Ranch makes a solid basecamp for the Ozark region. Book a site and spend the days alternating between the river and the road.
