Cardwell Campground & General Store is located between Bozeman and Butte, directly off Interstate 90 at Exit 256. Cardwell is a Small community located next to Whitehall with family ranches and bordered by the Jefferson River and Boulder River. Jefferson River passes through a region of significant geological diversity, with some of the oldest and youngest rocks of North America and a diversity of igneous, metamorphic, and sedimentary formations. The Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail also passes by the property, making it a must-visit location to access Lewis and Clark, Pipestone, and Yellowstone easily. Blessed with large agricultural valleys ringed by snow-capped mountains, some of Montana’s finest trout fishing and a mother-lode of history, full of wonder and packed with everything that comes to mind when folks dream of Montana: unspoiled wilderness, spectacular views, big ranches, trout-filled rivers and a slow paced, genuine Montana way of life. The Cardwell Campground is open year-round and harbors 38 pull-through RV sites, up to 60′ max, and 6 dry tent sites, 1 fully furnished dry cabin. The facility includes a covered pavilion and horseshoe pits for summer evening barbecues with family and friends. For campground guests, the North Boulder River and Jefferson River are easily accessible nearby.
