Interlake RV Park & Campground

New York, New York

4.01 reviews
Interlake RV Park sits in Rhinebeck, New York, in the scenic heart of the Hudson Valley just 90 miles north of New York City, making it one of the more strategically positioned campgrounds in the Northeast for travelers who want access to the Valley's remarkable concentration of history, culture, and natural beauty. The interlake rv park is accessible from both the New York State Thruway and the Taconic Parkway, and the combination of big-rig-friendly sites and a location surrounded by wine country, river towns, and Catskill Mountain foothills draws campers from across the region. The park offers full hookup sites with cable HD TV and free WiFi throughout the property, accommodating the practical needs of extended stays. A large heated swimming pool, catch-and-release fishing pond, lake fishing, and an arcade provide recreation across age ranges, and the snack bar and grill handles on-site meals and casual dining through the season. The camp store stocks essentials, coin laundry handles supply management, a rec hall hosts community events, and a solid calendar of planned activities runs through the summer. Shaded, wooded sites under mature trees give the property a natural character that the Hudson Valley's old-growth landscape provides naturally. Cabin accommodations are available for guests who prefer enclosed lodging. Rhinebeck sits in Dutchess County on the east bank of the Hudson River, in a town that has managed to remain genuinely beautiful and historically intact despite its proximity to New York City. The Hudson Valley's landscape here is defined by agricultural estates, river bluffs, and the forested ridges of the Catskill Mountains visible across the river to the west—a view that has attracted artists, writers, and affluent New Yorkers since the Hudson River School painters made this exact terrain the subject of America's first significant landscape art movement. The Beekman Arms in Rhinebeck village is the oldest continuously operating inn in the United States, and the surrounding hamlet provides antique shopping, local restaurants, and the kind of architectural preservation that earns a town repeated listings on every "most beautiful small town" compilation. Franklin D. Roosevelt's Hyde Park home—Springwood—and the FDR Presidential Library are about five miles south, alongside the Vanderbilt Mansion, Eleanor Roosevelt's Val-Kill Cottage, and the Culinary Institute of America. Olana State Historic Site, the elaborately designed Persian-style home of Hudson River School painter Frederic Church, offers one of the most spectacular river views in the Northeast from its hilltop position across the river in Hudson. Interlake operates from April 1 through October 31, with the heart of the Hudson Valley summer season running June through September and fall foliage weekends in October particularly popular. The proximity to New York City drives weekend demand throughout the season, so midweek stays offer a quieter alternative at the same sites. Couples and families looking for a Hudson Valley base with full-service camping accommodations will find that Interlake's combination of wooded sites, pool, and fishing pond provides everything needed for a comfortable stay while the surrounding valley delivers the cultural and natural richness that makes this stretch of the Hudson one of the most rewarding camping destinations in the East.

Campground is in a lovely location and has nice sites. We did have to move due to a bad electrical box but had no issues after that. Only real downside is the road status within the park, potholes and broken up asphalt makes for a rough ride around campground. For the nightly rate I would expect better condit...Show more
