Meraki Escape
Brevard, North Carolina
2 Cabins
Meraki Escape in Brevard, NC, offers 2 luxury Nordic Spruce log cabins.
This is an adults-only cabin retreat rather than a serviced RV park — no children, and the published record shows no RV sites or hookups, so contact them directly if you're traveling in a rig. Laundry, a bathhouse, on-site dining, a general store, a spa, a hot tub and sauna, a library, a concierge, and EV charging serve guests. Pets are welcome. The property also hosts weddings.
One practical note the property makes itself: print or download the driving directions before you set out, because cell and GPS coverage drops through these mountains. Creek frontage, walking trails, hiking, fishing, kayaking, and birding fill the forested grounds, with wine tasting, golf, and a state park nearby.
Brevard sits in Transylvania County in the southern Blue Ridge — the self-styled Land of Waterfalls, with Pisgah National Forest, DuPont State Forest, and more than 250 named falls in the county.
Rates for the cabins are on the booking page. Two cabins, adults only — book early, and download the directions.

Best time to stay?
- The best answer, any time! The mountains are a cool respite in the summer, gorgeous in the fall (especially on the Blue Ridge Parkway Meraki Escape Loop) and serene in the winter!
- Some say that winter is the prettiest time as you can see forever in the crisp air during the day (even a glimpse of Lake Jocassee) , then snuggle up by the fireplace and feel cozy at night. Or perhaps sit with a book from our cabin library and enjoy the mountain peace.
- Spring is quite a marvel too as the absence of leaves on the trees give guest the most stunning mountain views, plus have the bonus of the Mountain Laurel and Rhodendrum that blankets our mountain along with the sparkling fireflies across the horizon greeting the new season in a riot of vibrant color.
What is there to do at Meraki Escape?
- Hike, bike, swim, fish, run, kayak, tube, shop, eat, drink, river snorkel, horseback ride, listen to music, visit a brewery, or just ESCAPE the world and enjoy the solitude of the cabin!
- Please visit our Things to Do page or our Travel Guide for our area activities.
Hiking at Meraki Escape
- Meraki Escape's Triple Creek Trail! It is a ½ mile moderate loop that starts at the dog/bike washing station.
- A descending hike takes hikers along a few switch backs before they reach the bottom where the trail connects to Meraki Lane.
- This section of the trail meanders along the main creek and past all 3 waterfalls and back up to the cabins.
- The trail is moderate and hikers are advised to hike at their own risk.
- Please be respectful of other guests while using the trail or at the waterfalls and remember that dogs are required to be on a leash at all times (and don’t forget to bring a baggie with you to pick up your dog’s waste).

- For those new to hiking, please constact our Concierge Specialist.
- We would be so pleased to help facilitate your day-hiking and waterfall chasing adventures!
Is Brevard a Rain Forest?
- Gorges State Park is a Temperate Rain Forest and Meraki Escape is ½ mile a way.
- In Gorges State Park the average yearly rainfall is over 80 inches creating a temperate rain forest. The rainfall is a result of orographic lift which occurs when an air mass is forced from a low elevation to a higher elevation as it moves over the rising terrain.
- The land at Gorges State Park (and Meraki Escape) rises over 2, 000 feet in just 4 miles.
- The air mass gains altitude it expands and cools adiabatically.
- This cooler air cannot hold the moisture as well as warm air can, which effectively raises the relative humidity to 100%, creating clouds and frequent precipitation.
Wildlife? Bears?
- When designing Meraki Escape, we went to great lengths to preserve the forest environment for guests to enjoy alongside modern comforts.
- Please understand that you may encounter mosquitos, gnats, ticks and other wildlife such as deer, turkey, birds, butterflies, squirrels, fox, etc. around the cabins.
- Black bears do live in Gorges State Park (1/2 mile from Meraki Escape) and we take precautions such as storing all trash indoors, no food in the outside dog waste bins, and no bird feeders to deter the bears and luckily haven’t had one visit the cabins or our property yet.
- Our resident dog, Parker, as well as our neighbor dog, Dixie, also help to scare any curious bears off.
Hunting?
- No Hunting Allowed at Meraki Escape.
- No firearms or weapons of any kind are allowed to be discharged on our property.
What should I bring with me?
