Foothills Family Campground is a family-owned RV park on Route 16 in Tamworth, NH, just north of White Lake State Park. We have 22 acres of wooded land with tall pine trees that provide shade. We also have a beautiful fishing pond fed by a natural brook. Our campground has spacious campsites with picnic tables and a fire ring for RVs, tents, van campers, and jeep campers. The McNeilly family welcomes you and your family to enjoy a peaceful vacation in the beautiful White Mountains and lakes region of New Hampshire. There are many fun things to do and see in the White Mountains, making it a great destination for a family vacation. Registrations and Arrival
Check-In Procedure
- Check in at the main office and store is between 2:00 pm and 8:00 pm.
- Check out time is 12:00 noon.
- Applicable for short-term camper(s).
- While each park attempts to accommodate your exact spot request, the onsite manager has the ultimate decision for spot placement.
Reservation Policy
- Reservations require payment in full.
- Holidays require a minimum stay of 3 nights.
Registration
- All campers are always required to register at the front desk and display their vehicle tag on their car on-site.
- Registered campers are responsible for the actions of their children, guests, and pets.
- Any acts of criminal behavior, including but not limited to property damage, disorderly conduct, and/or threatening or assaultive behavior on behalf of the camper(s), their guests, or visitors, as determined by and in the sole discretion of the owner, will result in immediate ejectment of the camper(s) from the park without refund.
Campsite Condition
- Please notify the office of any issues or concerns with the campsite upon arrival and/or prior to departure.
- Campsites should be left in the same condition as they were at the beginning of the campers ' stay.
- Clean-up fines will be assessed at $100 per hour for sites left with trash on site or in the fire pit, and/or personal belongings left behind.
- A $250 fine will be assessed if equipment is necessary to clean the site.
Children
- All children under the age of 13 should be accompanied by an adult whenever away from their assigned site.
- This includes but is not limited to bathhouse, playground, store, pond, field, etc.
- At the pool, children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult 18 or older.
Visitors Policy
- All visitors must register at the office upon arrival.
- If the office is closed, please reach out to the office.
- Visitors may complete the visitor form prior to arrival.
- All visitors must check in at the office upon arrival with license plate, car, and the names of all visitors.
- All registered camper(s) are responsible for their visitors.
- Visitors are bound by the same rules and policies as the camper.
- The camper is responsible for any violation of the rules or agreement by their visitor(s).
- There is a daily charge of $5.00 per day or $10.00 overnight for visitors who wish to use our facilities.
- Campers are required to ensure visitor fees are paid in advance of stay.
- Failure to register your guests properly will result in fines of $25 per visitor and may result in ejection from the park.
- Visitors must park at the registered camper’s site or in the parking lot near the office.
- Small campsites are restricted to one car; therefore, visitors must park in the parking lot.
- Parking along campground roads is not permitted, as it may prevent emergency vehicles from accessing the property as needed.
- Visitors may not arrive prior to 8:00 am and must leave the campground by 9:00 pm if they are not staying overnight.
- Overnight guests should leave by noon.
- Visitors are not permitted to bring pets to the campground at any time.
- The owners, at their sole discretion, may decide that visitors are not permitted on site.
Quiet Hours
- We observe quiet hours between 10:00 pm and 8:00 am each day.
- Loud noise of any type from within or outside the camping unit, as determined by and in the sole discretion of the owner, is prohibited during those hours.
- Music, movies, and overhead lights should be off by 10:00 pm.
- Quiet hours are strictly enforced.
- Please make sure all parties know they should not enter or cut across other campers’ sites.
Campground Behavior
- The Foothills is a family campground, and we ask that all campers maintain acceptable standards of behavior.
- Do not walk through the sites of others.
- Do not trespass on the property of our neighbors.
- Watch for posted signs.
Prohibited Conduct
- We will not tolerate drunkenness, the use of profane language, or other behavior not in keeping with the family setting.
- We reserve the right to eject anyone who, in our judgment, is creating a disturbance, impairing the enjoyment of other guests, using profane or inappropriate language, being a nuisance to others, or deliberately breaking the rules of the campground.
Pets Policy
- Please review and execute the full pet policy.
- A maximum of 3 well-behaved pets per registered site are welcome.
- Aggressive dogs are not permitted, and it will be at the sole discretion of the Recreational Campground owner.
- You must provide proof of all pets' vaccination records prior to arrival.
- Aggressive behavior by pets is not permitted anywhere on the premises.
- Pets are not permitted to be left outside unattended by the camper.
- Current copies of the rathe bies certificate and expiration date must be received in order to stay on the property.
- Pets must be leashed at all times except for the designated dog park located near the bathhouse.
- Nuisance barking is not allowed in any area of the campground.
- You are responsible for maintaining control of your pet(s) and cleaning up after your pet(s).
- Waste bags are provided throughout the campground.
- Service animals are not considered pets.
- Please advise us if you have a service animal so we may better assist you.
Dog Park Rules
- Use of the dog park is a privilege that can be revoked at the sole discretion of the recreational campground owner if they determine the posted rules have been violated.
- Canine guests may never be left unattended in any off-leash area.
- You must be within view and voice control of your dog(s) at all times.
- Leashed dogs are not permitted in off-leash areas with other dogs.
- Enter the dog park, secure the outer gate, unleash your dog, enter the dog enclosure, and never open both gates at once.
- No human food or dog treats are allowed in the dog park while other dogs are also in the park.
- Glass containers are always prohibited in the dog park.
- Digging or destructive behavior by animals is prohibited.
- If your pet digs, please stop them and refill holes accordingly.
- Please observe and follow all dog park rules as posted.
Campfires Rules
- Wood is not permitted to be brought from outside of the state of NH.
- Our fire permit allows for small campfires in specific locations.
- Fires must be in existing fire rings only, and the flame must be kept no more than two feet high.
- Bonfires are not permitted.
- Burning trash or garbage of any kind in the fire rings is strictly prohibited.
- Moving fire rings is strictly prohibited.
- You will be assessed a $75 charge if fire rings are moved.
- Fires are to be extinguished before leaving the area and are not to be left unattended.
- You may use fallen branches or sticks from the surrounding woods for firewood.
- Do not burn fallen or live trees.
- We comply with state, county, and town fire restrictions and guidance.
Trees
- Trees are important to the climate and the beauty of the campground.
- Do not cut, carve, or damage live trees, shrubs, or undergrowth in any way.
- Do not cut branches.
- Remove all ropes and cords from trees before leaving.
- Cutting, damaging, nailing, or screwing into trees or removing any branches, sticks, or limbs from living trees or brush is strictly prohibited.
- A $75 fine will be assessed for damage to trees.
- If trees are cut down, you will be charged the replacement cost of a tree similar in size.
Speed Limits and Parking
- The speed limit throughout the property is 5 mph.
- Parking is allowed only in designated areas.
- Do not park at other campsites.
- There is no parking permitted on the campground roads in order to allow access for emergency vehicles.
- If camper(s) are found to be speeding through the park, Foothills Family Campground will require you to park in overflow parking by the office going forward.
Electric Vehicle Charging
- We do not allow charging of an electric vehicle on the campsites.
Trash Policy
- We believe in Leave No Trace.
- Please place all food waste and household debris in the dumpster, which is located near the propane fill station as you exit the campground in the dead end.
- Do not place trash in the fire pit or all over the campsite.
- All other types of trash, including but not limited to metal, tents, and EZ-Up, are to be removed by the camper(s) upon leaving the site and disposed of off premises.
Bathhouse Rules
- Please do not flush feminine products, flushable wipes, baby wipes, paper towels, excessive amounts of toilet paper, plastic, or food.
- These items will clog the pipes and require the bathhouse to be closed for repair.
- Please inform the main office of any issues or concerns regarding the area so they may be addressed immediately.
- Dishes should not be washed in the bathhouse sinks.
- Smoking is prohibited in restrooms.
Laundry Facilities
- Machines are provided for use behind the bathhouse.
- This is for clothes only.
- There is no washing and drying of tents, sleeping bags, shoes, dog beds, quilts, blankets, rugs, coats, skunk-sprayed materials, etc.
- Any of the above-mentioned items found in the washer or dryer will be disposed of immediately.
- Do not overload machines.
- Please empty the lint screen and note your washer and dryer times so others may use the facilities.
- Soap and dryer sheets are available in the store for purchase.
Pool Policy
- Please read and comply with all rules and regulations posted at the swimming pool.
- There is no lifeguard on duty; you swim at your own risk.
- Food and glass are not permitted in the pool area.
- Smoking is not permitted in the pool area.
- Adult supervision of all children under 14 is required.
- Swimming alone is not permitted to anyone.
- Shoes or sandals are to be worn to and from the pool.
- Swim diapers should be used for young children.
- It is required that you use the outdoor shower to rinse off prior to entry into the pool.
- No pets are allowed in the pool area.
- Pool railings are for safety purposes.
- Do not allow children to swing or play on the railings.
- The pool is open from 10:00 am until dusk.
- The pool is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Fishing Pond
- We annually stock the fishing pond for the enjoyment of our campers.
- You are required to comply with the posted rules and regulations at the site and catch and release with a non-barbed hook.
- Our pond is clean and healthy.
- Please respect wildlife and do not remove or touch any of the creatures that live there, including clams, frogs, crayfish, turtles, and ducks.
- They are all important to the pond’s ecology.
- There is no swimming, entry, or wading in the pond.
- Dogs may swim in the pond, but must continue to be leashed.
Paddle Boat and Kayaks
- Paddle boats and kayaks are provided to our guests as a courtesy for your enjoyment, for use at your own risk.
- Life jackets are required for all participants and are provided in the equipment closet.
- Those under the age of 13 must be supervised.
Playground
- No throwing rocks at the playground.
- You are required to comply with the posted rules and regulations.
- There is no smoking at the playground.
- Those under the age of 13 must be supervised.
Recreation Hall
- Currently closed.
Bicycles Rules
- Bicycles are allowed at the Foothills Family Campground.
- In accordance with NH RSA 265:144X, bike helmets are required for riders under 16 years of age.
- Bicycles may be ridden on the property from 8:00 am to dusk.
- Bicycles must not cross other campsites.
- Bicycles are ridden at your own risk and under parental supervision to ensure compliance with NH laws.
Shoes
- Footwear is required to be worn on all decks, in the dog park, in the store, and in all buildings.
Photos/ Video
- Foothills Family Campground will take photos and videos of events and activities going on at the campground to be used for advertising and social media for both internal and external purposes.
- By signing this document, you grant permission for use without payment or compensation.
Not Allowed
- We do not allow the use of fireworks of any kind, including sparklers, minibikes, motorbikes, side by sides, ATVs, personal chainsaws, log splitters, or other power equipment.
Cancellation Policy
MODERATE
If the guest cancels at least 1 week before your check-in day and time, they will receive a full refund (minus Spot2Nite convenience or resort fees). If the guest cancels within the 1 week before check-in, there will be no refund.
