Construction on Stump Sound began in 1991, with a special focus on architectural guidelines. Here, you’ll find nostalgic coastal home designs. Today, there are 117 total lots, with 63 of them being oceanfront and 54 being sound lots. Stump Sound is home to arguably the most famous oyster in North Carolina. Due to the area’s location near the Atlantic, Stump Sound produces large, salty oysters that are best for steaming and cooking, making for an excellent half-shell. You’re invited!
