Marval Resort
Gore, Oklahoma
85 RV Sites, 71 Cabins, 13 Tent Sites, 3 Lodges
Marval Resort sits on the Lower Illinois River in the foothills of the Oklahoma Ozarks near Gore, where one of the most accessible float-trip rivers in the region flows cold, clear, and gentle enough for tubers and kayakers of all ages. The resort is designed around river access — float trips launch from property and ride the current back downstream, with water chilled by cold releases from the Lake Tenkiller Dam upstream giving the Lower Illinois a refreshing temperature even on the hottest Oklahoma summer days.
On-site amenities keep the energy high between river sessions: an outdoor swimming pool and splash pad, a 9-hole miniature golf course, volleyball and basketball courts, horseshoes, a game room with pool tables, a convenience store, golf cart rentals, and an air-conditioned activity center running themed crafts and events for families throughout the season. RV and tent sites share the property with cabin rentals for guests who prefer walls.
Lake Tenkiller, just up the road, is known as the "Trout Capital of Oklahoma" and adds a different kind of water experience — scuba diving, sailing, and bass fishing on clear, spring-fed water. The Blue Doors swimming area at Tenkiller is a local favorite for swimming and kayaking in water visibility that's unusual for an Oklahoma lake.
The surrounding Cherokee Country region brings in history and culture alongside the outdoor activities, with Tahlequah — the capital of the Cherokee Nation — a short drive away and the Cherokee Heritage Center offering one of the most comprehensive looks at Cherokee history in the country.
