72 RV Sites

Shady Acres RV Park sits along US-67 in Cleburne, Texas, in Johnson County between Fort Worth and the Hill Country transition zone, offering full-service RV accommodations about 30 to 40 minutes from the Dallas-Fort Worth metro while maintaining the quieter, small-city character that distinguishes Cleburne from the suburban sprawl that has absorbed much of the surrounding region. The shady acres rv park serves both long-term residents and traveling campers with a practical, well-maintained facility in a location that makes day trips to multiple directions genuinely convenient. The park's sites are laid out on 30-by-60-foot concrete pads with full hookups including 30 and 50-amp electric service, water, and sewer—a site footprint that comfortably accommodates large rigs and provides the stable, level surface that extended-stay guests particularly appreciate. An on-site swimming pool, gym, game room, and playground give guests activity options without requiring a drive, and the hot showers are consistently reported as a standout amenity. WiFi and a propane tank fill-up station address the connectivity and fuel needs that regular RV travelers rely on. Cleburne is the Johnson County seat, a city of around 30,000 with a historic downtown square, an established arts community, and the kind of commercial infrastructure—grocery stores, restaurants, hardware and auto parts—that makes extended stays genuinely workable. The surrounding Johnson County landscape is a mix of cross timbers woodland, rolling pasture, and the limestone creek valleys that define the eastern edge of the Texas Hill Country's geological influence, a terrain that feels distinctly Texan without the highway-corridor density that defines much of the I-35 and I-20 corridors. Cleburne State Park is a short drive southwest and protects a spring-fed lake in a cedar, juniper, and Texas oak landscape that provides fishing, swimming, hiking, and mountain biking in one of the more complete state park recreation packages in the Dallas-Fort Worth region. Dinosaur Valley State Park, about 20 minutes west near Glen Rose, is home to some of the best-preserved dinosaur tracks in North America—visible in the limestone bed of the Paluxy River and supplemented by full-sized dinosaur models that have made it a family destination for generations. The Chisholm Trail Museum and Heritage Center in Cleburne tells the story of the great cattle drives that passed directly through Johnson County in the decades after the Civil War. Shady Acres RV Park operates year-round in North Texas's climate of hot summers, mild winters, and spring weather that makes the outdoor recreation options in Cleburne and the surrounding region most appealing from March through May and September through November. The DFW metro's proximity means guests have access to professional sports, major airport connections, world-class museums, and every urban amenity within a 45-minute drive while sleeping in a campground that's a long way from city-center noise and traffic.
