dog over a campfire, but you can also indulge in expertly prepared meals that
range from retro comfort foods to local favorites to exotic dishes. Here’s a
list of some of our favorite restaurant-campground mashups that will give you
a dining experience in the midst of a camping
adventure.

  1. Old
    Quarry Ocean Adventures
    in Stonington, Maine – Savor
    fresh lobster every day at this kayaker’s paradise with access to more than
    60 forested islands. You can enjoy the feast on the deck overlooking the
    ocean or get it to go and dine at your campsite.

  2. The
    Evergreens Campground & Restaurant
    in Solon,
    Maine – You won’t go hungry thanks to this campground’s restaurant, which
    features a well-rounded menu including burgers, meatloaf, chicken, pork chops
    as well as vermicelli marinara and vermicelli with meatballs. Even your
    pickiest eaters won’t be able to resist.

  3. Kamp
    Klamath
    in Klamath, Calif. – Camping is hard work,
    so this campground offers all-you-can-eat salmon or chicken barbecues on
    Saturday nights during the summer months. Meals come with rice pilaf, stir
    fry vegetables and fresh salad, picked fresh from the campground’s

    special breakfast dishes as well as themed dinners, which could vary from a
    pig roast to a German themed sausage fest with German potato salad to
    standard prime rib dinners. Other dinner specials have ranged from tacos to
    all you-can-eat chicken wings to Hawaiian
    pork.

    omelets, pancakes and french toast. Lunch and dinner menu items range from
    portabello mushroom sandwiches to Baja fish tacos, salmon burgers and gourmet

    sole.

    4 Seasons Resort
    in Gordon-Wascott, Wis. – This
    park, located in Wisconsin’s North Woods, is home to the famed “The Golden
    Chipmunk Bar & Grill,” a 60-seat restaurant that is very popular with
    local residents and visitors alike. Favorite dishes include barbecued pork
    ribs, half-pound hamburgers and Friday night fish
    fries.

  7. Sunset
    Lakes Resort
    in Hillsdale, Ill. – This park’s grill
    offers a full range of comfort food, including oven-baked chicken,
    tenderloins, jerked pork, prime rib and steaks. The grill also handles
    special menus for large groups, including weddings, rallies and retirement
    parties.

    park, followed by a horse-drawn carriage ride through a 130-acre elk
