Check-in Procedure
- At check-in, guests may be asked to present identification and confirm reservation information.
- While each park attempts to accommodate your exact spot request, the on-site manager has the ultimate decision for spot placement.
Age Requirement
- You must be 18+ to book a stay at Campfire Ranch.
- Guests may be asked to verify their age at check-in.
- Minors are allowed if accompanied by an adult in their party during their entire stay.
- During winter, children must be 7 years of age or older to stay at the Thelma Hut.
Alcohol Policy
- Campers consuming alcohol may be asked to show their ID at any time.
Guests
- Use of the hut kitchen is off-limits to all guests.
- Any guests in possession of or using prohibited items forfeit their reservation and will be ejected from Campfire Ranch Red Mountain Pass.
- Any guests engaged in unacceptable behavior forfeit their reservation and will be ejected from Campfire Ranch on the Taylor.
- No refunds will be issued for forfeited reservations.
Thelma Hut
- Showers are not allowed at The Thelma Hut.
- All campers must vacate the Thelma hut by 11 am on the day of checkout.
Unacceptable Behaviors
- Irresponsible use of alcohol.
- Smoking of any kind inside The Thelma Hut or outside when a fire ban is in place.
- Please ask our staff where you can smoke.
- Public nudity or lewd behavior.
- Accessing any restricted or staff-only areas.
- Taunting, bullying, abusive or disruptive language, or obscene gestures.
- Littering.
- Failing to comply or cooperate with Campfire Ranch staff.
- Unsupervised children and children unable to follow rules or directions by Campfire Ranch staff.
- Relieving your bladder or bowels anywhere other than the restroom.
- Fighting or engaging in any action or activity that may harm, endanger, threaten, or bring discomfort to staff, guests, visitors, vendor,s or members of the public.
- Publicly visible sexual behavior.
- Possession/use of illegal drugs.
- Damage, destruction, vandalism, or theft of any property.
- Climbing or hanging from any structures or equipment.
- Use of the Campfire Ranch logos, marks, or artwork without written permission.
- Dogs left unattended or behaving poorly.
- Operation of motorized vehicles off designated roadways.
Prohibited Items
- Large speaker systems.
– Personal-sized speakers only please.
- Air horns.
- Butane torches or excessive flame elements.
- Fireworks.
- Drones.
- Confetti of any kind.
- Silly string or other aerosol spray decorations.
- Illegal drugs and paraphernalia.
- Helium balloons.
- Spray paint.
- Firearms, pepper spray, or any other weapons.
- Firearms used for hunting or target shooting must be locked and kept in your vehicle at all times.
- Vending of food, goods, or services of any kind.
Snowmobiles
- While snowmobiling is legal in parts of the San Juan National Forest, we do not allow guests to use snowmobiles to access the Thelma Hut.
- We do offer gear shuttles using our company snowmobiles during the winter months, which can be selected during checkout when booking.
- We cannot and will not transport your group or pets with our snowmobiles.
- Please plan accordingly!
Pricing
- Winter 24-25 Starting at $810/night based on demand & availability + $85/per-person/night for food service + taxes & fees.
- Maximum of 8 guests, see the amenities section for bed layout details.
- Food service fees will show up as “Occupancy Fees” when booking.
- Please see the pet policy below for pet pricing.
- Add-ons are at an additional cost and vary in price, which can be found during checkout.
- Adventure Concierge bookings are at an additional cost and vary in price; these bookings are priced by request.
Parking
- The Thelma Hut is located .5 miles from US Route.
- 550 at where there is a turnout trailhead where you will park your vehicle and begin your approach.
- Parking is very limited at the trailhead.
- Please carpool and conserve space alongside other vehicles to make the most of the space.
- In the event of an extended stay at the Hut and large snowstorms, we may ask you to move your vehicle within the parking lot so plows can clear the lot.
Pet Policy
- Campfire Ranch does not recommend backcountry skiing or splitboarding with your pets.
- However, we do allow well-behaved pets in The Thelma Hut at Campfire Ranch, Red Mountain Pass.
- A maximum of 2 pets are allowed per reservation at The Thelma Hut.
- A nightly charge of $50/per pet will be applied to your reservation.
- Pets may not be left unattended during your stay.
- You must bring food for your pets.
- Pet food is not included in our meals.
Minor Policy
- During winter reservations, children must be 7 years of age or older to stay at the Thelma Hut.
- Minors are considered adults in terms of both occupancy and food service charges.

Cancellation Policy
MODERATE
If the guest cancels at least 1 week before your check-in day and time, they will receive a full refund (minus Spot2Nite convenience or resort fees). If the guest cancels within the 1 week before check-in, there will be no refund.
