Our spacious, smoke-free guest houses offer the “creature comforts” that will help you relax after a great day in the Wrangell-St ­ St. Elias National Park and Preserve. Our guest houses are custom designed, Alaskan-style log homes. They all have power 24/7, WiFi, full kitchen, private bath with tub/shower, a private bedroom with a luxurious queen bed, and a sleeper sofa.

Currant Ridge is located near the end of the McCarthy Road in the heart of the Wrangell – St. Elias National Park. ## About
Mt. Drum, an extinct volcano, rises 12,010 feet (3,660 m) from the tundra landing strip. Though Drum is the smallest of the Wrangell Mountains, its aesthetic shape and full climbing experience make it a unique peak.  The route follows the airy and steep south-west ridge; offering stunning views and secure climbing. Steep snow and scree is encountered along with several false summits before the altimeter reads 12,010 feet.  From the summit, Mt. Blackburn, Mt. Sanford, and Mt. Wrangell provide a spectacular backdrop.

Located deep in Alaska’s St. Elias Mountains, and rarely climbed, 14,470 ft (4,410 m) University Peak provides climbers with a world-class mountaineering challenge in a stunning setting.   An ascent of the North Ridge combines challenging, technical terrain with high altitude to make for a memorable adventure.  University Peak is among the 20 highest peaks in Alaska and the 50 highest peaks in the United States.

Climbers should have good physical conditioning and solid technical experience (i.e. Rainier and Denali, or ice climbing and Aconcagua, etc).

Mt. St. Elias, at 18,008 ft (5,488m) explodes from the shores of the Pacific Ocean and rises for over three vertical miles.  The second highest peak in both the U.S. and Canada, Mt. St. Elias has immense vertical relief, comparable to Denali and peaks in the Himalayas.
