Golden Village Palms Resort in Hemet, California, is one of the largest RV resorts in the state — a luxury destination resort in the Diamond Valley of Riverside County, tailored for active adults who seek a full-amenity resort experience in the scenic inland valley between the San Jacinto Mountains and the Santa Rosa Mountains of Southern California's Inland Empire. The resort's position in the Diamond Valley gives it the specific Hemet area character of a palm-lined Southern California resort at the base of the San Jacinto Mountains, within the inland reach of the Southern California desert that the San Jacinto Fault separates from the Palm Springs resort corridor 30 miles to the east. The Diamond Valley's combination of warm dry summers, mild winters, and the dramatic mountain backdrop of the 10,000-foot San Jacinto Peak gives Golden Village Palms the year-round resort climate that Southern California's inland desert communities sustain.
Premium full-hookup RV sites, resort-grade amenities, and the luxury resort infrastructure give Golden Village Palms the comprehensive resort experience that its designation as one of California's largest RV resorts specifically reflects — the resort's activity programming, club facilities, and community amenities give active adult guests the full resort lifestyle that the Hemet location in the Diamond Valley's year-round sunshine climate sustains independent of the external day-trip itinerary that the resort's mountain and desert proximity makes available. Pets are welcome.
Diamond Valley Lake, immediately east of the resort, is the largest reservoir in Southern California — a 4,500-acre Metropolitan Water District impoundment with a 3.3-mile perimeter trail, bass fishing, and the Western Center for Archaeology and Paleontology on the dam's southeast shore that preserves the Pleistocene fossil discoveries made during the lake's construction in the 1990s. The Western Center's mastodon, mammoth, giant sloth, and saber-toothed cat fossil exhibits give the Diamond Valley the specific paleontological depth that the inland Southern California sedimentary lakebeds specifically preserve in the most complete Pleistocene megafauna collection in the Southern California region.
The Aerial Tramway from Palm Springs, 35 miles east of Hemet via CA-74 and CA-111, gives guests the most dramatic vertical landscape transition in California — an 8,516-foot rise from the Sonoran Desert floor to the upper mountain station in Mount San Jacinto State Park, where the temperature drops from the desert's summer heat to the alpine wilderness of the San Jacinto Peak at 10,834 feet above the Palm Springs valley. The five-mile Skyline Trail from the tram's mountain station to the San Jacinto summit gives hikers the 270-degree panoramic viewshed from the summit that encompasses the Salton Sea, the Coachella Valley, and the Santa Rosa Wilderness in the most complete Southern California landscape overview available from a single summit hike.
Golden Village Palms Resort serves guests year-round in the Diamond Valley's mild inland Southern California climate, where the winter months from November through March represent the most comfortable conditions for the outdoor resort activities and the spring wildflower season from March through May gives the inland valley's coastal sage scrub and desert transition vegetation its most visually spectacular display in the good rainfall years that the San Jacinto Mountains' winter snowpack specifically sustains. Idyllwild, 25 miles north of Hemet in the San Jacinto Mountains, is the mountain arts community at 5,400 feet whose galleries, performing arts programming, and Idyllwild Arts Academy give the resort guests the mountain town cultural day trip that the dramatic CA-243 mountain highway sustains. Reserve sites well ahead for the winter resort season and the spring wildflower period.
