##Take a guided tour along the Tchoupitoulas Art Corridor Mural Wall Project which represents the 300 year history of New Orleans told through a series of murals panels along the Tchoupitoulas Flood wall.

Under the artistic direction of renowned New Orleans artist Jamar D. Pierre the mural is organized as an historical timeline beginning in the 1700s up until present day. Upon it's completion, the painting will be will be the longest mural in the United States at over a mile long.

The project serves as a teaching opportunity that connects New Orleans’ past, present and future by connecting its subjects to the long and dynamic cultural history of the city while beautifying a transitional corridor. The tour is also curated by Pierre (the artist chosen to create the city's official 2018 Tricentennial painting "Resilience") and may accompany tours when time allows to give even gurther insight to the works.

New Orleans Creole Class

In the late 1600s, the French set out to establish a city at the mouth of the Mississippi River to control trade in the area. The current location of New Orleans was chosen due to it's proximity to an old Native American trail that connected the lake and the river through Bayou St. John, and allowed back door access to the area from the Gulf of Mexico without having to travel up the perilous mouth of the river. It was because of this very trail and the Bayou St. John that the city of New Orleans exists in it's current location. 

On this 3 hour adventure we'll travel in a comfortable mini-van and take you through some of New Orleans oldest neighborhoods and trace this old trail to the very spot the city began. 

The tour begins on the edge of the French Quarter and travels the very ridge where this original trail once existed. We'll go through an historic old Creole neighborhood and see historic mansions and houses that are hundreds of years old. We'll pass through the historic Treme and see where jazz got its start, into the Bayou St. John and Fairground neighborhoods to see some more historic houses as well as the bayou itself, before visiting the majestic oak trees of City Park and grabbing some beignets. Then we'll hit up a local wild life refuge to see some cool birds and maybe a gator, and then we'll travel to the lakefront and the area where the Voodoo queen herself Marie Laveau once held her rituals.

Your culinary tour of New Orleans starts where it all began-- the banks of the Mississippi River. From here, witness the lifeblood of this region which brought new cultures, new influences and new ingredients through its ports.

As they say, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. To wake up your taste buds, we’ll indulge in New Orleans’ most iconic breakfast pastry, the beignet. While it looks hard to pronounce, it’s definitely not hard to love. Just make sure you watch the direction of the wind or else you might find yourself covered in sweet powdered-sugar goodness!

Next we will head to The French Market, the site of America’s oldest public market. Historically a place of diversity with products and people from all walks of life, today The French Market is a modern yet unique culinary space. You’ll be sure to stop for a local bite and get to know some of the colorful personalities that call this city home.

From the French Market, you’ll embark into the picturesque streets of the French Quarter where your guide will take you to some of their favorite palate-pleasing spots. You’ll sample both a classic New Orleans dish, as well as a delicacy that you’ve probably never seen outside Cajun country. With an abundance of seafood, a fertile eco-system within the bayou and a history of spice trade, you’ll begin to realize why everything here tastes so good.

Do you have an affinity for the spicier side? Then adopt the ‘when-in-Rome’ attitude and try out your taste buds on some of Louisiana's hottest and tastiest sauces. This is the birthplace of Tabasco, after all. 

On this tour, you’ll have the chance to try a dish that sparks more controversy amongst chefs than any other in New Orleans-- gumbo. Learn how hundreds of years of history has shaped this recipe and how it can vary from restaurant to restaurant.

##What To Expect

The Tale of Two Cities bike tour embarks from Flambeaux Bicycle Tours location (626 North Rampart St. in the French Quarter). Upon arrival you will fill out a waiver and be fitted on a bicycle to make sure your comfortable on the tour. After a short safety briefing you will embark on a 3 hour excursion from the French Quarter, the Central Business District, the Garden District, the Warehouse District and back.  

On your 3 hour tour you will learn about the intersections of New Orleans various historic cultures after the Louisiana Purchase. Your guide will show you the most impressive ante-bellum mansions in New Orleans, give you a narration of who lived in them, and the inhabitants impacts on American history.  

Your tour will come with a bottled water, an optional helmet, and a guaranteed good time!

The Garden District is home to some of the oldest mansions in New Orleans. The gothic vibes have been featured in many movies and shows including Interview with The Vampire, American Horror Story, and The Mayfair Witches! We’ll visit homes where celebrities like John Goodman, Trent Reznor, and Peyton and Eli Manning once lived before traveling uptown to see the mansion on St. Charles Avenue, and even go inside one! **General Itinerary**

Our music tour of New Orleans begins just outside the French Quarter at the historic and beautiful Louis Armstrong Park of the Tremé neighborhood. Within the park, we will talk about the historical origins of jazz and one of the music genre greats, Armstrong himself. 

From here, we will begin to make our way to the 19th century Marigny neighborhood, named after the nobleman and good-time guy of the same name. Updated for modern thirsts, the Marigny is a popular nightlife area for New Orleanians and visitors alike. Your guide will have the chance to take you there making sure to point out a few popular local haunts for both music and nightlife along the way. 

Soon we will arrive at the famous Frenchmen Street, the largest concentration of live music in the city, where your guide will take you inside one of his/her favorite venues. Locals know you’ll have access to the best options, depending on the day of the week, time of day, and band schedules. You’ll be sure to receive a beer, and you’re welcome to purchase additional beverages at your leisure.

In New Orleans, there’s always the opportunity for an element of surprise. We’ll be on the lookout for impromptu street performances, which can always make the night special. And if the timing and mood is right, we’ll get behind the scenes with the band in between sets.

#Laura Plantation Tour “Louisiana Creole Heritage Site”

The Laura Plantation tour near New Orleans is considered by many in the tour industry as the best historical plantation tour along the Great River Road. The plantation was led by four Creole women, most notable, was Laura, from where the plantation gets its name. The women led the plantation over sixty years, using slave labor. You will get to view and enter the 1840’s slave quarters, as part of this tour. You will hear stories of all aspects of the plantation life including the fact that the book “Bier Rabbit” was written here. The Plantation house was nearly destroyed by fire back in 2003, but it was rebuilt to the original design using building materials from antique homes that was disassembled and sold off in pieces. The rebuilding process, is a story in itself.

Take a tour you will literally never forget because it will be immortalized in a funny cinematic style video! 

If you are looking for a simple, scripted, paint by numbers history tour of the French Quarter, well, this ain't it! What we do is we'll take you through some of the cooler locales in the French Quarter, and we'll definitely give you some history, both past and more modern history, we'll tell you about ghosts and architecture and all the cool things about New Orleans! But we'll be making a movie as we go, and YOU will be the star!

Our tours are for private groups of up to 12 people. The purchase price includes a group of up to 6 people. 6 additional people can be added at an additional price. We'll chat with you beforehand and get an idea of what you are looking to do and then we'll have some fun! 
Some of the video themes we can do are ghost busting, where we can have you chasing ghosts that are literally CGI'd into the scenes! Want to do a kung fu fight scene on the river, or a slow motion foot race down Bourbon Street? We can do that. Want to be a super hero and fly over the St Louis Cathedral? No problem. 

The tour is approximately 90 minutes long. After the tour we will edit the footage into a fun 90 second video that can be shared to all your social media channels. We do require up to 3 days to complete the video editing.

On our Heart of the City small group bike tour you will trace the colonial history of New Orleans and its cultural treasures. Pedal through the flat, storied streets of the French Quarter, Faubourg Treme, and other historic New Orleans areas while learning facts about New Orleans history from one of our expert guides. Exploring the city by bike lets you cover more ground than a walking tour but with the flexibility to stop often to learn about the history and culture of the city.

##What To Expect

Hop on one of our professionally maintained Public Bikes at our shop in the French Quarter (626 North Rampart St.) and set off with a guide and small group of no more than 10 to explore the most famous neighborhood in New Orleans. Then, venture beyond the Quarter to learn about the city’s rich history and heritage, starting from its founding in 1718.

Pedal along the banks of the Mississippi River and through the oldest parts of New Orleans—the Vieux Carré, Faubourg Marigny, the Bywater, Faubourg St. Roch, and Faubourg Treme. Cruise down leafy Esplanade Avenue, into the legendary St. Louis Cemetery No. 2, and through Louis Armstrong Park and Congo Square. **General Itinerary**

You’ll begin your tour in the most iconic spot in New Orleans, Jackson Square. From here, the best and most historic bars of The French Quarter are all within a stone’s throw. Don’t expect to spend much time on Bourbon Street though.  While it has its place in New Orleans nightlife, we will be going beyond the tourist track to show you what really makes New Orleans cocktail culture unique. 

For our first stop we will travel back to the 1700s and visit a bar which used to entertain some of the most eccentric characters in New Orleans history. Here, we will taste an infamous drink of the city and learn how it has influenced New Orleans drinking culture today. 

In a town bearing witness to many hangovers, and a place where it’s socially acceptable to drink at any time of day, it’s no surprise New Orleans has a wide range of delicious dessert-like cocktails. On this tour, we will visit on of your guide’s favorite bars and taste a drink so good you’ll forget there’s alcohol in it.

Next, we will sample the ‘official cocktail of New Orleans’-- the Sazerac. One of the first cocktails ever invented, it’s definitely tasty enough to stand the test of time. We will also touch upon the topic of how medicine influenced Sazerac and other cocktails alike.

From here, we will taste another classic New Orleans invention, while exploring some of the oldest bars and restaurants in the French Quarter. We’ll also get a behind-the-scene peek into a courtyard oasis which makes these buildings special and/or a classy room hidden away from plain sight.

Last but not least, we will visit one of the classiest establishments in New Orleans to try one of the city’s most esteemed drinks-- the Ramos Gin Fizz. You’ll learn why this drink is original and exclusive to New Orleans and witness your expert bartender making it. This haunted plantation tour treats Destrehan Plantation as the backdrop for exploring diverse people such as enslaved Africans, free creoles of color, Acadians and native Americans who shaped the unique landscape and cultural “gumbo” of Louisiana during it’s first 100 years.
