Sunrise Lake Family Campground
Le Roy, Michigan
9 RV Sites, 1 Tent Site
On the shores of all-sports Sunrise Lake in Le Roy, Michigan—in Osceola County in the Lower Peninsula's northern forest where the lake's clear inland water, 12,000 acres of Michigan state land across the road, and the Evart Motorcycle Loop's 48 miles of DNR forest road create the pure Michigan camping character that the lake communities of Osceola and Mecosta Counties sustain in the quiet inland lakeshore landscape between Big Rapids and Cadillac—Sunrise Lake Family Campground provides full hookup RV sites, wooded tent sites, and cabin rentals nestled in the lakeside setting, a boat ramp, swimming off the sand beach, kayaking and paddle boating on the lake, fishing in the all-sports lake's panfish and bass population, a snack bar, a pavilion, laundry, showers, and a dump station on a gated property whose Sunrise Lake frontage and the state land's direct ATV and ORV access create the Michigan lakeside and trail-riding combination that the inland northern Michigan family camps for. All-sports Sunrise Lake. ATV-direct from your campsite. Pure Michigan character.
Full hookup RV sites with water, electric, and sewer alongside wooded tent sites and lakeside cabin rentals create the accommodation range for the family whose northern Michigan week includes lake days, forest rides, and the campfire evenings that Osceola County's natural setting makes the evening's best activity. The boat ramp's lake launch eliminates the public-ramp competition that popular Michigan lake weekends create, swimming off the sand beach provides the all-ages water recreation, and kayaking and paddle boating on the lake's clear water create the quieter watercraft alternative to the motorboat traffic that an all-sports lake designation permits. The snack bar handles the between-swim hunger and the afternoon treat, and the pavilion accommodates the organized family event, the birthday party, and the wedding venue rental that the lakeside setting and Sunrise Lake Family Campground's event infrastructure offers.
Le Roy sits in Osceola County on US-10 between Reed City and Leroy Township, in the lower northern Michigan landscape where the Muskegon River's headwater tributaries, the Pere Marquette State Forest's southern sections, and the private and commercial forestland create the recreational landscape that the Osceola County ATV and snowmobile community accesses from the trail networks that the DNR forest roads and designated ORV routes sustain. The 12,000 acres of Michigan state land directly across from the campground creates the public land access that the ATV, ORV, and mountain bike community uses from the campsite without requiring a trailer load or a drive to the trailhead.
Big Rapids, 20 miles south on US-131, provides Ferris State University's campus, the Muskegon River's flatwater canoe run through the city, and the Mecosta County commercial infrastructure that the Le Roy area's limited services require for the major supply run. Cadillac, 20 miles north on US-131, provides the twin-lake resort town of Cadillac and Mitchell's Lake Cadillac-Lake Mitchell connected channel, the William Mitchell State Park, and the Missaukee County's snowmobile and ATV trail network that extends north through the Upper Peninsula gateway landscape.
Sunrise Lake Family Campground operates seasonally through the Michigan summer and early fall, with the Memorial Day through Labor Day swimming and boating season, the ATV and ORV riding calendar from spring through fall, and the snowmobile season on the Osceola County trail network from December through March providing the three-season activity that northern Michigan's inland lake and forest landscape supports. Reserve your site, tent spot, or cabin at Sunrise Lake Family Campground and let the all-sports lake, the boat ramp, and the 12,000 acres of state land across the road deliver the Pure Michigan inland lake experience that Osceola County's lakeside campground provides.
