Idlewild is located on the spring-fed waters of Lake Panasoffkee and built on 3 acres with 10 cabins and 10 RV pads. In addition to renovated cabins and pavered RV sites, Idlewild features premium amenities including pontoon boat rentals, Swamp Fever Airboat Adventure tours, kayaks, bait & tackle, a boat launch, boat slips, vending, recreational area, laundry machines, an on-site café, pool-side cabanas, and the most spectacular views of Lake Pan while sitting around the gas-fired fire pit.

Idlewild is located on the west side of Lake Panasoffkee approximately 25-30 minutes southwest of The Villages. The surrounding neighborhood is mostly rural in nature with a few other neighboring RV parks. Like many other counties in FL, Sumter County is undergoing a gentrification transformation. Many of the old neighborhoods are slowly being redeveloped. Once you start to wonder where you are going, you have nearly arrived. Once on-site, we highly recommend scheduling a ride aboard Swamp Fever’s Airboat Adventure Tours. In classic Florida fashion, an airboat will take you across the lake into an unmolested floodplain forest where many of Florida’s original reptilian inhabitants still thrive. Alternatively, you can rent one of the on-site pontoon boats and take it out for a picnic or fishing expedition. Off property, you can bike along the Withlacoochee State Forest & Bike Trail, kayak along the Rainbow River, canoe the Withlacoochee River, experience manatees in Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park, or spend the day at Weeki Wachee Springs.
