Under new ownership in 2013! We are a family-owned, full-service campground. Located in south-central Illinois we are focused on providing you with a great family vacation experience year-round. Conveniently located off I-70, we are only an hour from St. Louis and the perfect spot to explore all the wonders of the great state of Illinois! RV sites with 50 amp service, tent camping and private cabins are all options for your family vacation at Okaw Valley Kampground! We even have a private, stocked pond that you can fish with no fishing license.


Cahokia Mounds — The remains of the most sophisticated prehistoric native civilization north of Mexico are preserved at Cahokia Mounds State Historic and World Heritage Site (pictured above). National Road — Commissioned by the Federal Government and started in 1811, it is the oldest national road. It was built of gravel and originated in Cumberland, Maryland. The road ended in Vandalia, Illinois, only 5 miles from the campground. National Road Interpretive Center — The Road That Built the Nation Lincoln Park — Across from the Old State Capitol. The park includes a water fountain, gazebo, a life-sized bronze statue of Abraham Lincoln, and 1 of 10 Lincoln wayside exhibits. Fayette County Speedway — Auto races every Saturday night. Special races on holidays with bigger payouts. Kaskaskia River — Also known as the "Okaw", there were flat boats running supplies to New Orleans in the early 1800s. St. Louis Mississippi River — Casino boats and the St. Louis Arch
You can enter 1341 East 1650 Avenue & Brownstown, IL 62418 into your GPS to map a route. From the East — I-70 West to Exit 68. Make a right at the end of the exit and an immediate left onto the frontage road From the West — Exit 68 off I-70, Illinois. Left at the end of the ramp. Go 1000 feet and make a left onto the frontage road, just past the exit ramps back onto I-70. From the South — I-51 North to I-40 East. Go approximately 4 miles and make a left onto the frontage road just past I-70 bridge and exit ramp. From the North — -57 South to I-70 West. Take exit 68 and make a right at end of exit ramp. Make an immediate left onto frontage road.
