Rio Guadalupe Resort
About
Rio Guadalupe Resort, formerly known as River Valley Campground, opened in 1976. Years earlier, German citizens of New Braunfels used the riverfront as a park. For a short time, the property was also the site for a community center called Walhalla. In the beginning, Rio Guadalupe’s 25 acres were overgrown with cedar and mesquite trees. There were no utilities or roads, but the site had a lot of potentials. After months of hand-clearing and road work, a small storage building was erected to serve as an office. RV hookups were installed along the tree-line overlooking the Guadalupe, and Rio Guadalupe Resort opened for business.
Family Fun on the Guadalupe River
Rio Guadalupe Resort now features 25 cabins, 58 RV sites, an event center, and the largest swimming pool on River Road. We’ve even built a new office with a grocery store and souvenir shop.
Rio Guadalupe Resort provides many exciting and fun activities on and around the Guadalupe River. Enjoy tubing, fishing, kayaking, or rafting along the 1/4 mile of Guadalupe River frontage. Take a day trip to San Antonio or Austin, or cuddle up with a good book and enjoy beautiful views of the Texas Hill Country. For decades, Rio Guadalupe Resort is the perfect place to relax and unwind with friends and family.
