Located on the scenic Norbeck Byway just one mile north of Custer, Fort Welikit Campground offers 100 unique campsites beneath the tall pines of the Black Hills. Guests can choose full-hookup RV sites, water-and-electric sites, tent camping, full-service cabins, electric camping kegs, authentic tipis, and covered wagons. The campground is minutes from Sylvan Lake, the Needles Highway, Custer State Park, Crazy Horse Memorial, Jewel Cave, Mount Rushmore, and other Black Hills attractions.

- RV and tent sites allow a maximum of six guests unless approved.
- Camping kegs do not allow pets.
Rules
Registration and Arrival
- RV, tent, and tipi check-in begins at 1:00 PM; cabin check-in begins at 3:00 PM.
- Check-out is by 11:00 AM for all accommodations.
- While each park attempts to accommodate your exact spot request, the on-site manager has the ultimate decision for spot placement.
Reservations and Occupancy
- Guests must provide the correct RV type and length; a materially different unit may not be accommodated.
- RV and tent sites allow a maximum of six guests unless management approves otherwise.
- RV sites permit one RV and no tents. Tent rates cover one tent; additional tents require approval and an added fee.
Vehicles and Trailers
- Each site includes one vehicle. Extra vehicles and support trailers must be declared before arrival and fit on the gravel pad or use assigned overflow parking.
- Undeclared extra vehicles or trailers may incur a $20 fee.
- Electric vehicles may not charge from RV pedestals or campground outlets.
Pets
- Pets must remain leashed outside the RV, may not be left unattended, and waste must be picked up.
- Pets are not permitted in camping kegs.
Site Care
- Do not attach hammocks, ropes, pets, lighting, or other items to trees.
- Outdoor sanitary facilities are not permitted at RV or tent sites.
- All vehicles must be registered and display a campground vehicle tag.
Cancellation Policy
Campground Cancellation Policy
- All deposits, reservation fees, and credit-card fees are non-refundable.
- A one-night deposit is required for standard reservations; July 4 and Sturgis Rally reservations require a two-night deposit.
- Reservations longer than 14 days require a one-night deposit for each week reserved.
- Beginning 30 days before arrival, the guest is responsible for the entire stay.
- Cancellations must be submitted in writing by email to [email protected]; cancellations are not accepted by phone.
- Reservation-length changes may be made without penalty until 10 days before arrival. Later reductions may incur a $15 tent-site, $30 RV-site or keg, or $100 cabin rescheduling fee.
- No-shows are charged for the full reservation. No refunds are issued for early departures.
