Cross Rip is a beautiful, "old school" campground located on the Chesapeake Bay. They offer RV and tent camping from April to November. Enjoy relaxing on the private beach, fishing in their freshwater pond, or grab a bite to eat with local restaurants close by. Rules

Registration and Arrival Check-In Procedure - Check-in is after 2 pm. - Check-out is at 11 am. - Advance notification is requested for arrival after 7 pm. - Boat trailers must be parked in the field at the entrance of the campground. - Please pick up all your trash and put it in the dumpster at the front entrance. - There is a recycling station on your way out on Recycling Road. (Turn right after Napa) - Please make sure your water at your site is completely shut off. - While each park attempts to accommodate your exact spot request, the on-site manager has the ultimate decision for spot placement. Campsite - One (1) camp trailer and one (1) small tent or a removable screened-in porch. - Two (2) tents and a screened-in area or one popup trailer with a screened-in area. Parking - Only one (1) car is allowed per camp. - Site additional cars must be parked in the field. Fee - Applies to more than four (4) persons per campsite. - The maximum number of extra people is two (2) ( Total number of people not to exceed 6), and the cost is $5 per person, per night. (This is for transient guests) - There is $50 per month charge for seasonal and monthly contracts with more than four people. - Additional refrigerator/freezer is $9.00 per month per appliance. - Storage of a boat/ and or trailer is $100 and $50 for a 2nd boat for the season. - If you bring a kayak or canoe, please keep it at your campsite, not on the beach. - If you wish to store your vehicle (seasonal campers only) after 11/7/24, it will be $330 payable before checkout. - Storage is defined as unoccupied and disconnected from electrical and water. Visitor - If you have a guest for the day (not overnight), the cost is $3.00 per person and must be approved at the office. - They need to park their car in the field, not at the campsite. - A visitor is anyone who is not registered with the original party. - The day visitor fee is $5. Quiet Hours - 10 PM to 7 AM. - Please respect other campers and neighbors. - No loud music or talk, please. - Sound really carries across the Bay. Pet Policy - Dogs and cats are allowed in camp and must be on a leash at all times, except while exercising in the back field or swimming with supervision. - No electric fences for dogs or cats are allowed. - PLEASE do not leave your dog unattended in or at your camper. - Pick up poop. - No one wants to step in it, and it attracts flies. Speed Limit - Is 10M PH. - There are children playing or guests walking about, please drive slowly. Garbage: - The Dumpster is located at the edge of the field and is emptied every week. - Campers must dispose of their own garbage by placing it in the dumpster. - Your fire pit is not a trash receptacle. - Please do not put cigarettes in the fire pits. - Be responsible for safe containment. - There is a recycling/Trash station to use if you are throwing away big items, ie, broken chairs, tents, or cardboard boxes. - You make a right turn at Napa off 33. - This is only about a mile down from the camp. Dishwashing - Hot and cold valves are located on the west (men’s) side of the bath house, with a double-sided sink on the north side of the bathhouse. - Wipe off all food particles and place them in the trash can provided at the end of the long table. - Do not put any food or paper down the sink drain. - The septic is fussy. Campfires - Must be confined to designated areas. - No bonfires allowed. - A no-burn rule until after 4 PM starts Feb 15 through April 30, but may be changed because of weather conditions. - Fires must not be left unattended or unguarded and must be completely extinguished before retiring for the night. - A fire extinguisher is located in the men’s and women’s bathhouse. - They are to be used for emergency use only, not to put out campfires. - The wood at the field barn is for the owner’s use only. - Bundles of wood are sold at the office for $5 a bundle. - If you bring in wood, it must be kiln-dried. Smoking/Vaping/Drinking - Cigarettes are considered trash; please dispose of them properly. - Do not dispose of them on the ground, in the water, or on the beach. - Please make sure they are extinguished; we don’t want a forest fire. - Please be considerate of your neighbors. - Excessive drinking with loud and inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated, and you will be asked to leave, no questions, no refunds. Green Living - We all need to conserve energy. - Turn off all electrical devices (lights, fans, air conditioners, radios, and TVs) when not in use before retiring for the night and when leaving camp for an extended period. - Please don’t litter. Dump Station - This is for the use of Cross Rip Campground guests only and is located near the bathhouse. - Turn off water at the spigot, drain pressure from the hose, hang hose back up and replace plug in drain after use. - Do not put clean wipes, rags, paper, crab shells, cigarettes, or food in the dumping station. - Grey and Black water only. - This is a septic system, please use septic-safe products in your campers. - Do not discharge any grey or black water on the ground ever. Bathhouse - Spread shower curtains or folding doors to help prevent mold and mildew. - Do not leave any of your personal items in the bathhouse. - Any items left will be thrown away at the end of the weekend. - Do not put any sanitary articles, or wet wipes, in the toilet, regardless of their “flushable claims". - Please limit your time in the shower. - All systems within the campground limits are septic systems. Please turn off the lights when the bathhouse is not in use. Children - Children under 12 are not allowed on any pier or beach without an adult chaperone. - No teenagers are allowed on a campsite unless accompanied by an adult. Swimming, Piers, Docks, and Beaches - There are no lifeguards on duty. - Please keep track of your children. - Swimming is done at your own risk. - All swimmers are asked to adhere to the buddy system. - No jumping or diving from the pier or bulkhead. - If accessing the bay from the boat basin, watch for outgoing and incoming boats. - Please wear water shoes. - The shells and possible fishing lures could cut your feet. - Please adhere to our property line. - We are in a residential neighborhood and want to protect our neighbors’ privacy. - Parents, please do not allow any children (or adults) to walk on the old walls of the swimming area at any time. Fishing - Fishing is for Cross Rip campers only. - Catch and release only in the freshwater pond. - Please use caution on the pond dock. - Fish are to be cleaned on the dock. - The water spigot is on the side of the Galley (little red cabin), and make sure to turn it off when you are through. - Leave the cleaning station clean. - Please be considerate of others who want to fish. - Space on the dock is limited, so don’t leave your rods unattended. - Do not cut bait or tackle on the dock bench. - Please take your trash, especially old fishing line with you. - No liquid mantel-type lights are allowed on the pier at any time. (Any type that, if knocked over, will spill and potentially cause a fire on the pier or contaminate the bay) Boat Launch - Small sailboats, skiffs, canoes, and kayaks may be launched from the beach. The beach is very soft, and vehicles may get stuck. - Launching facilities for larger trailered boats are available within a 1-mile distance. - No jet-ski type craft is allowed. Golf Carts - No golf carts are allowed unless you are disabled and need a wheelchair or other approved type of scooter to get around. - You must present a current doctor's note stating that you have limited mobility. - There will be an extra electrical charge ($10.00 per month) if one is approved. (Electric only, no gas) - In addition, the golf cart must be "street legal, with a license plate," and proof of insurance must be presented. - If you and your golf cart are given permission, the handicapped person must be in the golf cart when it is used. Renter Responsibility - The renter of the campsite is responsible for the actions of their guests and should review these rules and regulations with them. - Please keep your space neat and tidy. - If you wish, as a seasonal guest, to add a deck, it must be approved by management before you build. - It must be in 4” x 8’ segments and no higher than 2ft off the ground for easy removal (seasonal guests only). Inappropriate Behavior - This is at the discretion of the Cross-Rip owners. - The campers will be asked to leave Cross Rip Campground with no refund. Grey Water - No release of black or grey water at your site. - It is important that your discharge hose be connected to a blue holding tank or stored in your vehicle (as required by the VA health dept). - There is a dump station by the bathhouse. Articles - Unclaimed articles that are left after 6 months will become the property of Cross Rip. Subletting - Subletting is not permitted. For Seasonal Campers - Seasonal Total $3300.00. - Includes water and electricity. - Payable in 6 installments of $550.00 each on the 1st of each month. - Payment is due on the 1st of each month. - An additional late fee of $30 will be added to your bill if you pay after the 15th of the month. - If you are late 3x in a season you will be asked to set up automatic payment or vacate the premises without a refund. - If we receive your check back as NSF, there will be an additional $40 added to your bill.

Cancellation Policy

MODERATE If the guest cancels at least 1 week before your check-in day and time, they will receive a full refund (minus Spot2Nite convenience or resort fees). If the guest cancels within the 1 week before check-in, there will be no refund.
