Smokiam RV Resort

42 RV Sites, 1 Cabin, 46 Tent Sites, 4 Glamping Sites, 1 Cottage, 10 Tipis

Smokiam RV Resort in Soap Lake, WA, offers 42 full-hookup RV sites, 2 cabin and cottage rentals, 46 tent sites, and 14 glamping and tipi sites, with 30 and 50-amp service and room for rigs up to 45 feet. Sites are labeled by service and length, which takes the guesswork out of booking: 30-amp water/electric/sewer at 30 feet, 50/30-amp at 43 feet, premium 50-amp at 45 feet, and premium 50-amp sites with a private hot tub at 45 feet. All carry water, sewer, and electric with cable TV, site-delivered WiFi, a fire pit, picnic table, and barbecue. Laundry, a bathhouse with showers, a general store, and a community fire pit round it out, and pets are welcome. An outdoor pool, hot tub and sauna, mini-golf, a clubhouse, sport courts, basketball, pickleball, horseshoes, and corn hole fill the grounds, and a beach with kayak and boat rentals puts guests onto the water for swimming, boating, and paddling. Soap Lake sits in the Columbia Basin of central Washington, a mineral-rich lake of a type found in only one other place in the world, with Dry Falls, Steamboat Rock, and Banks Lake nearby. Rates for every site type are on the booking page. The hot tub sites are limited and go first.

River Mill RV Park

97 RV Sites, 1 Apartment

River Mill RV Park in Estacada, Oregon, offers 97 oversized full-hookup RV sites and an apartment in the foothills of the Mount Hood National Forest, with 30 and 50-amp service on a big-rig-friendly layout. Back-in and pull-through categories join a laundry, showers, recreation center, playground, and dog park at a newer full-service park off Highway 224. Ninety-seven sites run in back-in and pull-through categories, both carrying water, sewer, and electric on 30 and 50-amp. Every site is oversized, which is the point — the park was designed for the large modern rigs that older mountain campgrounds in this corridor simply cannot accommodate. Confirm length limits with the park for your specific coach. An apartment rounds out the lodging. A laundry, restrooms, showers, and recycling handle the practical side. A recreation center, playground, and dog park fill the grounds, with a river and lake nearby. The amenity set is deliberately practical rather than resort-scale, which suits a property built as a comfortable base for the Clackamas corridor. Pets are welcome. Estacada sits where the Clackamas River drains the western slopes of the Cascades through Douglas fir forest, clear mountain streams, and reservoir-dotted ridge country. The Clackamas is a designated Wild and Scenic River with excellent fishing and whitewater, Mount Hood is close, and Portland is within an easy drive northwest. Summer is peak in the Pacific Northwest, when the Cascades are accessible and the weather is reliable. Demand also runs steadily from work stays year-round. Reserve well ahead for July through September, and ask about monthly rates.

Cougar RV Park & Campground

27 RV Sites, 5 Cabins, 3 Tent Sites

Cougar RV Park & Campground in Cougar, Washington, offers 27 RV sites, five cabins, and three tent sites at the base of Mount St. Helens on the Lewis River's Yale Reservoir, with 30 and 50-amp service and rigs accepted to 40 feet on a big-rig-friendly layout. Full-hookup pull-throughs join water-and-electric back-ins in a forested mountain setting. Twenty-seven sites run in water-and-electric back-in and full-hookup pull-through categories carrying 30 and 50-amp, sized to 40 feet, with fire pits and picnic tables. Note the 40-foot cap before booking a larger rig. Five cabins and three tent sites round out the accommodations. A general store, laundry, restrooms, showers, firewood, and WiFi handle the practical side. All types of RVs are welcome — the park answers questions directly at [email protected]. Pets are welcome. A pavilion fills the grounds, with fishing, birding, and planned activities from the property. Snowboarding, off-roading, and boating are all nearby. The position is genuinely dramatic. The campground sits directly on the south flank of Mount St. Helens — the active stratovolcano that reshaped southwest Washington on May 18, 1980, and has since become one of the most actively studied volcanic environments in the world. The Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument, the Ape Cave lava tube, and the Lewis River system's fishing and water recreation are all immediately accessible. Summer is peak for monument access and the Lewis River. Reserve ahead for July and August weekends.
