Cheyenne Sky RV Park

Cheyenne, Wyoming

69 RV Sites, 4 Tent Sites

At the crossroads of Interstates 80 and 25 in Wyoming's capital city, Cheyenne Sky RV Park delivers a well-equipped, cottonwood-shaded stop that functions equally well as a destination base camp and a comfortable overnight along one of the most traveled corridors in the Mountain West. The park offers 104 full-hookup sites shaded by mature cottonwood trees—a genuine rarity in the high-plains environment—and a range of amenities that go well beyond the highway-adjacent standard. Cheyenne itself offers more historical and cultural depth than most travelers expect from a Mountain West state capital, and the park puts all of it within easy reach. The 104 sites offer full hookups with 50/30-amp service, and the cottonwood canopy makes warm Wyoming afternoons on the patio considerably more pleasant. Fast, free WiFi covers the property, and spotless showers, a 24-hour self-service laundry facility, and two fenced dog runs handle the practical needs of extended stays with genuine care. An on-site ice cream counter from Josie's Creamery serves all-natural ice cream that has become something of a park attraction in its own right. A playground, propane refill service, and RV supply items round out the amenity lineup, and the park's location just minutes off the I-80/I-25 crossroads makes it among the most accessible parks in the region. Wyoming's high plains environment gives Cheyenne a distinctive atmosphere—wide open, windswept, and set against a skyline that seems to extend indefinitely westward toward the Laramie Range. The city sits at about 6,000 feet elevation, and the dry clarity of the air is immediately noticeable to anyone arriving from the east. The surrounding countryside is classic Wyoming: rolling grassland, working ranches, and the long views that make the Mountain West so compelling for RV travelers with open schedules and flexible routes. Cheyenne Frontier Days, held annually in late July, is one of the signature events of the American West—a ten-day celebration combining world-class rodeo, top-tier country and rock concerts, carnival atmosphere, and deep western heritage that draws attendees from across the country. The park provides shuttle service during Frontier Days to simplify the parking situation. Beyond the event, the gold-domed Wyoming State Capitol building, the Historic Governors' Mansion, the Wyoming State Museum, and the massive Big Boy steam locomotive on permanent display near the Union Pacific depot are all worthy stops. Cheyenne Sky RV Park is open year-round and sees strong demand both during Frontier Days and throughout the summer travel season. Late July reservations are essential and should be made months in advance to secure a site during the event. For the rest of the year, the park offers reliable availability and the quality of facilities that consistently earns top ratings among I-80 corridor travelers. Whether you're attending Frontier Days, exploring Wyoming's capital city, or simply making a comfortable overnight on the route, Cheyenne Sky delivers. Book ahead and claim your cottonwood-shaded site.
