The RV Park at Keystone Lake

Oklahoma, Oklahoma

12 RV Sites

Half a mile from the sandy beaches of Appalachia Bay on Keystone Lake—off Highway 412 in Creek County just outside Tulsa, Oklahoma, where the Arkansas River's impoundment behind Keystone Dam created the 26,000-acre reservoir with 370 miles of shoreline that Tulsa's outdoor recreation community uses as its primary freshwater destination—The RV Park at Keystone Lake provides 72 full hookup sites on blacktop-paved streets with a dog park, outdoor pavilion, fire pits, a general store, propane, laundry, and three FEMA-rated storm shelters in the meticulously maintained campground that serves the Keystone Lake market as the most fully amenitied private campground on the reservoir. The half-mile beach proximity, the storm shelters, and the paved site accessibility together characterize the property's operational priorities for Oklahoma's weather-variable spring camping season. Seventy-two full hookup sites with 20, 30, and 50-amp electric, water, and sewer connections on well-maintained blacktop-paved streets and parking areas serve the full range of RV types and sizes with the smooth surface access that a Creek County campground operating through Oklahoma's spring rain season requires to prevent the site-access difficulties that unpaved campground roads produce in wet conditions. Each site includes spacious, level positioning with additional vehicle parking alongside. A dog park provides the off-leash exercise infrastructure for the traveling pet population. An outdoor pavilion with picnic areas, fire pits, and on-site charcoal grills serve the group gathering and outdoor cooking needs. A general store stocked with camping necessities and unique gift items, an on-site ATM, propane refill service, laundry facilities, and free high-speed WiFi complete the daily operational infrastructure. Three FEMA-rated storm shelters—the most immediately practical safety amenity a Great Plains campground can maintain—reflect the operational awareness of Oklahoma's tornado and severe weather season that runs from March through June. Keystone Lake's 370 miles of shoreline on the impounded Arkansas River provide the warm-water fishing that the reservoir's combination of shallow coves, creek-arm shallows, and the main lake's deeper channel creates for striped bass, white bass, largemouth bass, catfish, and crappie across the Oklahoma fishing calendar. The lake's sandy Appalachia Bay beaches—a half mile from the campground—provide the swimming and beach recreation that Keystone's shallow sand bottom creates in the most accessible beach environment on any Oklahoma reservoir within commuting distance of a major metropolitan area. Keystone State Park on the reservoir's eastern shore provides the managed public recreation access that complements the campground's private facilities. Tulsa—accessible from Keystone Lake on Highway 412—provides the Oklahoma cultural and commercial infrastructure at a city scale that most visitors are surprised by: the Philbrook Museum of Art in a Mediterranean-style villa, the Gilcrease Museum of American art and history with the nation's largest collection of Native American artifacts, the Brady Arts District's music venues and restaurants, and the Art Deco architecture concentrated in Tulsa's 1920s oil-boom downtown constitute a cultural offering that the city's size and national reputation don't adequately prepare first-time visitors for. The RV Park at Keystone Lake is open year-round on the Keystone Lake recreation calendar. Spring from March through May provides the most productive bass fishing and the most attended Oklahoma camping season before summer heat arrives. Summer fills the beach at Appalachia Bay and the lake's water recreation calendar. Reserve the paved site early for the spring bass fishing tournaments that Keystone Lake hosts and the summer beach season, note the storm shelter locations on arrival, and let the 26,000-acre reservoir deliver the central Oklahoma freshwater recreation that 370 miles of Arkansas River impoundment makes possible.
