The Place
Located in Winchester at the top of the Shenandoah Valley. 88 sites for tents to big rigs, pull-thrus, 30/50 amp, paved roads, log cabins, trolley trips Sat. Apr.-Oct., wireless Internet service, catering, LP gas, swimming, playgrounds, pavilion, gameroom, laundry, store, pets accepted. Big rigs welcome. Attractions: caverns, civil war historic sites, plantation homes, Skyline Drive, Harpers Ferry, golf courses, horse races and slots, car & bike racing. Events: Apple Blossom Festival, Apple Harvest Festival. Hot Air Balloon and Wine Tasting Festival, Reenactments.
Park Rules & Directions
CHECK-IN TIME is 1:00 p.m. Check-out time is 12:00 Noon. Please re-register by 10 a.m.
SPEED LIMIT - 5 MPH is strictly enforced for the safety of children "of all ages." MOTORCYCLES may be ridden IN and OUT only!QUIET HOURS - 10:00 p.m. till 8:00 a.m. - During this time there should be NO loud noise that can disturb other campers. Please confine recreational activities, such as basketball, to the hours between 8am until dusk. Playgrounds close at dusk
CHILDREN - All children must be supervised at all times! All persons under the age of 18 are to return to their campsites by 10 p.m.VISITORS - Please register at the office and obtain a car pass. Visitor fees are payable upon arrival. Visitor hours are 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. unless staying overnight.
WASTE - Waste water is not permitted on the ground. Use of a sewer collar is required on all sewer sites (Virginia State Law).TRASH - It should be placed in one of the large red containers located throughout the park.
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES - Permitted on your site. No underage (under 21) drinking allowed. No one is permitted to stray from their site with alcoholic beverages. Excessive drinking and or rowdiness, loudness, vulgarity or creating a disturbance is not tolerated.
PETS - Keep dogs leashed at all times on a leash a maximum of six feet long. Off leash dog area is "Buster's Run;" please observe posted rules. You must clean up after your pet. Please keep pets away from flower beds. No Barking dogs. No pets in any buildings.
SWIMMING - Rules and hours are posted at the pool. Swimming is permitted only for registered campers, and guests who have paid for the privilege of swimming. No children under the age of 14 are permitted inside the pool area without the supervision of a parent or guardian. A proper swim suit is required. Children must be FULLY potty-trained to use the large pool.ROLLERBLADES, ROLLERSKATES, SKATEBOARDS, SCOOTERS AND BIKES - May be used from dawn to dusk (with proper safety gear and on the roadways please, not on the grass). Do not cut through campsites or ride on the store porch or surrounding walkways. Be courteous of pedestrians!WATER - Candy Hill uses a well for its water supply. No washing of cars or RVs.
ELECTRIC - No electric space heaters.
FIRES - Hours for campfires are 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. (Forest Ranger Rules). Please request a fire ring. It will be delivered to your site free of charge. Keep safety in mind, keep campfires small, and drown your fire before abandoning it! Wood is available at our store. Please do not cut our trees! Firearms, fireworks or explosives of any kind are prohibited. No outside firewood permitted.
GRILLS - Please do not use on our picnic tables - the tables will burn.NEATNESS - Please help us maintain the spotless and tidy character of our campground by keeping your site neat and orderly. The use of a clothesline is prohibited.MESSAGES - EMERGENCY MESSAGES WILL BE DELIVERED TO YOUR CAMPSITE. All other messages will be posted on the bulletin board located just outside the office door and by the laundry room.
COURTESY - Is contagious. Give Your Neighbor Yours!SITES - Candy Hill Campground will not register sites to persons under 21. The campground has final decision in camp site assignment and reserves the right to change site assignments at any time.REFUNDS - Sorry, No refunds.
LIABILITY - The management assumes no responsibility for property loss or damage.
Candy Hill Campground wants you to have an enjoyable visit. Our policies are intended to promote a relaxed and enjoyable environment for all who are staying with us. To serve the interests of our campground as a whole, these policies are strictly enforced. We reserve the right to evict anyone violating these rules, destroying property or otherwise creating a disturbance. No refund will be given under these circumstances.

This Property is privately owned and operated and the management reserves the right to refuse services to anyone and will not be responsible for accidents or injury to guests. NO REFUNDS on camping fees. Check Out Time is 12 noon and there is a charge for Early Arrival or Late Check Out. No arrivals after 10:00 pm please. Candy Hill Campground will not register sites to persons under 21.
