The Ouachita RV Park

The Ouachita RV Park in Monroe, Louisiana, offers full-hookup RV sites and a tent site just off Interstate 20, with an outdoor swimming pool, clubhouse, laundry, dump station, playground, and dog park. Part of the Streamside Parks family, it is built for genuine big-rig access on one of the most practical I-20 stops in northeast Louisiana. Sites carry full hookups, with a tent site rounding out the lodging. Contact the park to confirm amp service, length limits, and current category availability for your rig — the published site records are incomplete, and a call gets you a straight answer. A laundry, dump station, restrooms, showers, and a clubhouse handle the practical side. An outdoor swimming pool anchors the property, with a clubhouse, playground, dog park, billiards, horseshoes, corn hole, and picnicking filling the grounds. The amenity package is well rounded for a highway park — a pool and a clubhouse are more than most interstate stops offer, and the big-rig friendliness is the point rather than an afterthought. Sites are laid out with genuine room to maneuver, the laundry and bathhouse are on site, and the dump station means you leave clean. Pets are welcome. Monroe sits on the Ouachita River in northeast Louisiana, midway between Shreveport and Vicksburg on I-20. The Biedenharn Museum, Black Bayou Lake National Wildlife Refuge, and the University of Louisiana at Monroe are all close. Demand tracks interstate traffic rather than a season, with spring and fall the most comfortable. Reserve ahead for holiday travel periods.

Askew's Landing RV Campground

Askew's Landing RV Campground in Edwards, Mississippi, offers 79 full-hookup RV sites, a cabin, and 20 tent sites across 40 acres, with 30 and 50-amp service and rigs accepted to 80 feet on a big-rig-friendly layout, open all year. Named categories — Lakefront, Lakeview, Horseshoe Bend, Magnolia Flats, The Field, The Hill, and The Pines — join an outdoor pool, lake, and kayak rentals. Seventy-nine sites span Horseshoe Bend, Lakefront, Lakeview, Magnolia Flats A, Magnolia Flats B, The Field, The Hill, and The Pines categories, all carrying water, sewer, and electric with site WiFi, sized to 80 feet, with fire pits and picnic tables. Naming every section rather than numbering tiers makes the property easy to picture, and Lakefront is the one to request. Eighty feet accommodates the longest coaches with a tow. An outdoor pool anchors the summer, with a lake, pond, and kayak rentals supporting boating, paddle boats, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, and swimming. Gem mining, basketball, horseshoes, corn hole, walking trails, a playground, pavilion, community fire pit, and dog park fill the rest, with planned activities and productive birding. Catherine's Landing

81 RV Sites, 18 Cottages

Catherine's Landing in Hot Springs, Arkansas, offers 78 RV sites and 18 cottages across 400 acres with a mile of Lake Catherine shoreline, five minutes from downtown Hot Springs. Sites carry full hookups with 30 and 50-amp service and cable TV, take rigs to 65 feet, and include waterfront back-in categories, with a zip line, splash pad, and boat ramp on the property. Seventy-eight sites run in premium back-in and waterfront back-in configurations, all carrying water, sewer, and electric on 30 and 50-amp with cable TV and site WiFi, sized to 65 feet, with fire pits and picnic tables. Eighteen cottages serve guests without a rig. A general store, laundry, restrooms, showers, and a gated entrance handle the practical side. Two policies to note: the resort enforces a ten-year age restriction on RVs, though older coaches are reviewed for approval if you send a photo in advance, and all holiday weekends require a three-night minimum. The 400 acres carry the recreation. A zip line runs the property, a splash pad and outdoor pool cover the swimming season, and a boat ramp and fishing pier give direct access to Lake Catherine's clear, Ouachita-fed water. Canoeing, kayaking, hiking, and fishing all run from camp, with bike rentals, a dog park, playground, clubhouse, pavilion, and pond besides. Pets are welcome. Hot Springs National Park is the smallest in the system and the most historically layered thermal spring community in North America, with Bathhouse Row, Oaklawn racing, and the Mountain Valley Spring heritage all five minutes away. The resort operates through the Arkansas season, with summer lake recreation and the Oaklawn racing calendar driving demand. Book holiday weekends well ahead, and confirm RV age approval before arrival if your coach is over ten years old.

Cloud Nine RV Park

40 RV Sites, 3 Tent Sites

Cloud Nine RV Park in Hot Springs, Arkansas, offers 40 full-hookup RV sites and three tent sites with 30 and 50-amp service, cable TV, and rigs accepted to 45 feet on a big-rig-friendly layout. Forty sites run in back-in and pull-through categories, both carrying water, sewer, and electric on 30 and 50-amp with cable TV and site WiFi, sized to 45 feet. Texas State Railroad Campground

55 RV Sites, 16 Tent Sites

Texas State Railroad Campground in Rusk, Texas, offers 55 full-hookup RV sites and 16 tent sites at the historic depot of the only state-owned heritage railroad in Texas, with 30 and 50-amp service and rigs accepted to 45 feet. A splash pad, lake, clubhouse, and playground sit on a big-rig-friendly property in the East Texas Piney Woods. Fifty-five sites carry water, sewer, and electric on 30 and 50-amp in pull-through and group back-in configurations, sized to 45 feet, with fire pits, picnic tables, and BBQ pits. Sixteen tent sites cover simpler camping. A general store, laundry, dump station, restrooms, showers, and firewood handle the practical side, and WiFi reaches the property. One vehicle is allowed per site; additional vehicles are $5 per night on arrival. On-site recreation suits families staying around the train schedule. A splash pad anchors the warm months, a lake on the property supports fishing, and walking trails, a playground, a clubhouse, and a pavilion fill out the grounds. Pets are welcome. The railroad is the reason most guests book. Its 25-mile steam and diesel excursion runs through the Piney Woods between Rusk and Palestine, and the campground sits at the Rusk depot, the eastern terminus — which means guests can walk to the platform rather than drive to it. The line was built in 1881 to haul lumber and supplies during the East Texas timber boom. In town, the Carnegie Library, the Museum for East Texas Culture, the Howard House Museum, and Veteran's Memorial Park are all close. Excursion schedules drive occupancy here. Check the train calendar first and book your site around it — running days fill well before quiet ones.
