Jellystone Park at Natural Bridge in Natural Bridge Station, Virginia, is a family camping resort in Rockbridge County's Shenandoah Valley foothills — a property offering the complete Jellystone family entertainment programming alongside proximity to Natural Bridge State Park, one of Virginia's most historically significant and visually impressive natural landmarks. The park's Rockbridge County location in the Virginia Valley and Ridge province gives guests the combination of resort-style family fun and access to the natural, historical, and cultural resources of the upper Shenandoah Valley and Blue Ridge corridor that make this section of western Virginia one of the most broadly appealing regional destinations in the mid-Atlantic. The Jellystone Park resort infrastructure — pool facilities, Yogi Bear themed activities, playgrounds, and the full family entertainment programming that the Jellystone brand's family camping identity is built around — gives families with young children the structured activity environment that sustains multi-day stays without the daily planning burden that unstructured destination camping can impose on parents managing young campers' attention spans. Day passes give non-overnight visitors access to the resort amenities, and the range of camping and accommodation formats accommodates families across the full spectrum of equipment and preference situations. Pets are welcome. Natural Bridge State Park, 10 miles south of the campground in the James River watershed, protects the natural limestone arch that has been recognized as a singular natural wonder since Thomas Jefferson purchased it from the Virginia colonial government in 1774 — a 215-foot-tall arch carved by Cedar Creek's dissolution of the Cambrian-age limestone in a formation that James Madison described as "the most sublime of Nature's works." The park's Cedar Creek Trail, Monacan Village living history site, and the arch's own twilight illumination ceremony give the Natural Bridge visit a depth beyond the initial arch viewshed that sustains the multi-hour visit the park specifically warrants. Lexington, 10 miles north of the campground, is one of Virginia's most historically significant small cities — the home of Virginia Military Institute and Washington and Lee University on adjacent campuses in a town where Stonewall Jackson taught and is buried, Robert E. Lee served as Washington College president and is also buried, and the George C. Marshall Museum on the VMI campus honors the Secretary of State whose European Recovery Program Marshall Plan carried one of the most consequential diplomatic legacies in American history. The Virginia Horse Center in Lexington provides major equestrian competition events that sustain the Rockbridge County agricultural heritage community. Jellystone Park at Natural Bridge operates through Virginia's camping season from spring through fall, with the summer family camping peak from Memorial Day through Labor Day and the fall foliage season in October delivering the Blue Ridge Parkway's hardwood color display that draws visitors to the Rockbridge County corridor from across the mid-Atlantic and southeastern states. The Blue Ridge Parkway's Otter Creek section, accessible from Bedford County south of Lexington, provides the National Parkway driving experience that autumn transforms into one of the most photographed road corridors in the eastern United States. Reserve family-friendly sites and cabins well ahead for the summer peak and October foliage weekends.
