Webster RV Resort in Webster, Florida, is a 55-plus age-restricted community and resort in Sumter County — a lively year-round community for active adults featuring a clubhouse, kitchen and social cooking facilities, sports courts, and the full lifestyle infrastructure that makes Florida's active adult campground communities among the most socially rich and most amenity-complete retirement and snowbird camping destinations in the southeastern United States. Webster's Sumter County position in the heart of central Florida's active retirement landscape, adjacent to The Villages' 130,000-resident retirement community, gives Webster RV Resort the specific geographic context of Florida's most concentrated and most developed active adult community corridor.
A clubhouse, kitchen for community cooking and shared meals, sports courts, and the complete daily living infrastructure of a 55-plus resort give Webster RV Resort the community-first amenity set that specifically serves the active adult camper whose primary camping motivation is the social connection, organized programming, and the Florida winter warmth that the Sumter County location delivers. The year-round operation sustains the resident and snowbird community that winters in the Webster area and the extended-stay guests who make the Sumter County lifestyle community their primary spring and fall residence. Pets are welcome.
Sumter County is the home of The Villages, the most famous and most rapidly growing active adult retirement community in the United States — a planned development community that grew from a small mobile home community in the 1980s to a 130,000-plus resident city covering portions of Sumter, Lake, and Marion Counties in a development that adds over 10,000 residents annually and has made Sumter County the fastest-growing county in the United States by percentage in multiple recent census periods. The Villages' recreation infrastructure — 600-plus golf holes on 50 courses, the polo field, the recreation centers, the Spanish Springs and Lake Sumter Landing entertainment squares, and the nightly live music program — defines the active retirement lifestyle that the surrounding Sumter County communities share and reference in their own amenity programming.
The Webster Flea Market, the largest flea market in the southeastern United States, operates on Monday mornings in Webster and draws buyers and sellers from across Florida and the Southeast — a 50-plus-year institution with over 1,000 vendors selling produce, antiques, clothing, tools, plants, and the full range of flea market merchandise in a market that sustains the Webster area's Monday morning economy and gives the campground's residents the walking-distance access to one of Florida's most genuinely distinctive weekly events. The Withlacoochee River State Trail's paved bicycle path passes through Sumter County and gives cyclists the 46-mile rail trail from Trilby to Citrus Springs through the central Florida flatwoods.
Webster RV Resort serves guests year-round in Sumter County's subtropical central Florida climate, where the October-through-April winter season represents the peak snowbird occupancy from the northeastern and Midwestern states who make the I-75 winter migration to Florida's active adult communities a seasonal routine. The spring and fall shoulder seasons provide the most comfortable outdoor temperatures for golf, cycling, and the social programming that Sumter County's retirement community infrastructure sustains year-round. Dade City, 20 miles south in Pasco County, provides the antique district and the Pioneer Florida Museum's historic structures that extend the Webster RV Resort day-trip range into the central Florida heritage tourism corridor. Reserve sites well ahead for the November-through-March peak snowbird season.
