The portraits of 284 Crawford County veterans flank Lady Liberty, who is embracing a dying soldier. During the painting of this mural, the events of September 11, 2001, unfolded. Immediately after, Eric painted a phrase on the banner which he taped to the mural and later incorporated in the painting. The phrase, "Our flag still waves. Her torch still shines," can be seen on the back arch of the monument. About 25 minutes from the campground.
