Looking for peaceful camping near Dallas with unbeatable lakefront views? Waterfront Hideaway Ranch in Little Elm offers over 14 acres of open pasture, shaded groves, and direct access to Lake Lewisville. With full hookup RV camping sites just steps from the water, it’s easy to kick back, sip a glass of wine under the trees, and take in a beautiful Texas sunset.

Spend your days fishing right off the bank, swimming in the lake, or launching your paddle boat, kayak, or skis for a full day of water fun. You can even anchor your boat right in front of the property! On land, enjoy stargazing, yard games, and birdwatching. The park is pet friendly (to friendly pets!) and features gated access, WiFi, a dog park, clean bathrooms, and laundry facilities.

When you’re ready to explore, head to Little Elm Beach for sandy shoreline, volleyball, and lakefront lounging. Families love the thrill of Hydrous Wake Park, and nearby Lakefront at Little Elm offers lakeside dining, live music, and community events. It’s all just minutes away—yet you’ll still feel worlds apart at this peaceful lakeside retreat.

This is  open to kayaks, canoes and paddleboards. Otter, Beaver and lots of wild hogs are present on this stretch of the river. This will be a 6 mile paddle. We will paddle upstream 3 miles have lunch at the Old Denton Bridge and float back. Weather looks good and flow should be also. 

The Dogwoods should be blooming during this time and can be quite fragrant.

The paddle is free please check the box 'Have My Own Gear' or 'LEO' or 'Park Ranger'.  (you pay your own parking $7 - cash envelope or Texas Parks Pass ) and if you need a board they will be available for $50 for the duration of the paddle.

Free Wildlife Paddle - Greenbelt 428 Park

This is planned to be a 2hr paddle on a remote cove. We will paddle the Cove ending up at the main body of the Lake and Islands at sunset approx. 3 miles.
As you glide through the calm waters of Ray Roberts Johnson Branch Park during a sunset wildlife paddle, you are treated to a truly magical experience. The vibrant colors of the setting sun bathe the park in a warm, golden glow, casting a peaceful and calming atmosphere over the entire area. As you paddle around the islands that dot the waters, you are surrounded by a wealth of wildlife that calls this park home.

*This is a Guided Wildlife Paddle where Otters have been documented. We cannot guarantee they will be visible.
*This paddle is designed to be an easy social paddle but Mother Nature can throw us a curve ball with unexpected winds and rapidly changing conditions. If your a novice paddler no matter the age if you arrive and decide the conditions are too much for your skill level we are happy to reschedule into a different paddle. We welcome kids from the age of 6 and 48inches (you must be this tall to paddle) we also understand kids have different skill levels also. As a parent please make these decisions appropriately as these paddles are 2 hours long, have scheduled rest breaks and photo breaks. It is the law that all kids 13 and under wear a life jacket.

*This is a not-for-profit event. All proceeds at the end of the year benefit the purchase of winter coats that are donated to the Little Elm Food Bank for kids that are registered. In the past we have donated on average $1000 in new winter coats.

Otterly Sunset Paddle

This is planned to be a 2hr paddle on a remote cove. We will paddle the Cove ending up at the main body of the Lake and Islands at sunset approx. 3 miles.

As you paddle through the tranquil waters of Ray Roberts Johnson Branch Park during the full moon and sunset wildlife paddle, you may spot a range of fascinating creatures. Keep an eye out for playful otters, majestic Great American Pelicans, Comorants, and a range of other wildlife such as deer, raccoons, squirrels, and even beavers, who are known for their impressive engineering skills.

Witnessing large flocks of migratory birds soaring overhead is a truly unforgettable experience. The sight of these magnificent birds in flight is a testament to the awe-inspiring power of nature. As you paddle around the lush islands, take in the natural beauty of the park and appreciate the unique ecosystem that exists in this area.

And as you enjoy this breathtaking experience, we will be serving several catered charcuterie platters and refreshing iced Ozarka Spring Water, making this paddle a truly indulgent treat for all the senses.
